McCloskey considers that Khan negotiations are going well

It actually all started when Khan went onto Twitter and offered to fight McCloskey so striclty speaking Khan was the first one to involve the media

Nah, Khan's mate, Saj said that McCloskey would be a good fight, and Khan just re-tweeted it. McCloskey's team then Contacted Khan via Twitter.

 

i agree with ya, it's "about" fair, but another 50 or 100 grand is a lot closer to fair. who knows what the actual offer on the table is.. to be honest i don't think this fight will fall apart over a disagreement over 50 grand

although they're talking to the media both sides are very quite on the actual figures involved. we could speculate about this forever. at this stage it's probably as well just waiting until there's a statement released...

Khan's negotiating team are a bunch of pansies, their second offer should have been lower than the first, and dropping by 5% everyday McCloskey's side doesn't sign.

 

Haha.. and then what. Come next week when SKY go "Okay, so you have had a month and you can't find an opponent because none of them will accept your offers?", with 10 weeks to go... it wouldn't exactly look good would it given that an opponent is going to need a minimum of 9 weeks notice

Assuming Mccloskey sticks to his guns, they have only 1 option. Increase the offer

 

Have an open bid with decreasing purse amounts consisting of Murray-Mitchell-McCloskey-Prescott-Brook-Peterson, lowest offer wins contract. If that fails, fight Berto, winner takes all.

 

Not sure what planet you live on but Berto isn't going to come fight in the UK.

As for you other bid ideas.. Brook is a welterweight and has stated he would only fight Khan at a catchweight. Not going to happen for April 16th. Mitchell??, I don't really think that would be approved, even aside from the fact he's a lightweight..... Prescott.. not in any top 10 rankings, and was beaten by Mitchell, it isn't feasible given the losses since he beat Khan.

The only options are Murray or Mccloskey, assuming it's true Peterson wanted $600k.. Both of which are fully aware of TK's predicament and are not going to budge, because they know the Khan's will come back to them. There is no other alternative

 

What about Matthysse? He'd do it for very little, considering how huge it would be for his career.

 

Risk/reward, another Argentinian slugger.. except this one isn't mandatory interim champion, isn't a big a name, doesn't bring a lot of money to the table in return for that risk. If I was Khan I certainly wouldn't take it.

 

What about Guzman? Perhaps at catch-weight, so no risk of him being over.
