Yeah I noticed that ed, couple of others.

The selection of bouts Micky goes from 18-1 to 29-7 in the space of a few months.

The ommision of his one real title fight Vs Vince Phillips.

The weights for the first fight when the guy was a supposed middleweight. Micky weighed in super light at 136 and the other chap was only 10st 6 - hardly a middleweight.

He wasn't knocked down by Neary.

Sanchez knockdown occoured much earlier in the fight, and the KO came in the seventh not the eighth.

These things always annoy me, even when are they are really well done, and it would seem that is the case here.

But I am too pedantic, when watching Boxing Bio pics.

Hell any boxing film; I really liked Rocky (Balboa)VI, right up to the end, and then they announce the decision, and I went on a 30 minute madman rant, telling anyone who would listen, Exhibition bouts are not judged!!!

Given what i read already, he certainly aint gone overboard as he did in The Machinist.

Did he boil down to Bantam after unifying the Heavyweight division ?

See this forum hasn't changed :-( A film about a good boxer with a great heart who did everything the hard way, and put in some of the hardest shifts in a ring and entertained us fans for years and guess what........

ESB geeks are complaining about the innacuracies and the legitimacy of the WBU title. get a grip you ****ing plebs it's a Holliwood film. Try and enjoy it and just hope it raises the profile of the sport a little.

Hence the film is not really aimed at us geeks.

Not surprising really. Making it realistic enough to satisfy the geeks would probably kill it at the box office.

Sometimes too much accuracy would make the mainstream hate it. I like Ali but I don't know anyone else who isn't a boxing fan and thought it was a good movie. Films aren't documentaries so you have to be clever about what stories you show and how you show them.

No doubt, which is sad because the Eklund/Ward careers are an amazing stand alone story in itself, and if the likes Bale and co took the pay cut, it could of been an amazing independent film, without the need for artistic licence...

The problem is that everyone wants the 3 Gatti fights included but how do you dramatise 3 fights against the same guy in a film and keep it interesting for non-fans? Finishing the film against Neary winning a world title is bending the truth but its easy to see why they did it from a film making point of view.

I totally agree, they make big budget films to make money, and from that point of view they did the right thing.

I just think though, because of that, perhaps the hype surrounding it, should not be so Oscar orientated.

Maybe they should of taken note of The Wrestler (which I am guessing was reason the film was given the go ahead), and parody a number of individuals rather than just the two.

The trailor looks ****, theres one bit where Ward is on the scales and he looks like a ****ing cruiserweight rather than WW. I love Ward so will probably still go and see it, if its **** i will probably just finger my missus!!
