I like Mayorga and he's funny but....

    What the hell is Cotto doing fighting him :huh

    Seriously man, he had his last fight against walker in December and before that, his last fight was 27 months before in a knock out lost to Mosley. I see why HBO told Arum to **** off and decided to go with Martinez instead. He's been knocked out three times after losing to Spinks in 2003. :bart

    I expect an easy fight for Cotto

    money.

    mayorga will be heavy,physical,may still have some power to try make it interesting.
    but cottos jab,movement,and skills will prevail.

    but ye,hes shot(mayorga)

    no one down with cotto vs cintron,both peurto rican,sells well.

    Jesus man, of all the boxers to begrudge a handy fight. Cotto is more deserving of an easy pay day than anyone. Give the guy a break. I'm sure he'll have a tough fight lined up after Mayorga.

    yeah I got what you're saying, but Bob Arum doesn't need to be getting pissed off if HBO doesn't decide to accept the fight though

    Mayorga is going to knock Cotto out. Just wait and see. This **** is going to back fire on Arum and after this loss Cotto is going to leave Arum.

    Arum needs a reality check. Hes got 2 cans lined up for Cotto. Pac - mosley, margarito

    Boxing has become more about the big names and money. Is not about making history, fighting the best, proving yourself against the best and promoters putting good competitive cards. You make a name for yourself like mayorga did and you are set.

    Mayorga is making a lot more money than more deserving and talented boxers. As for Cotto i dont think he has it in him anymore to fight the top guys. He doesnt have the confidence that he can win big fights. So he settles for big names opponents that offer no treat and give him a big payday.

    Arum all he cares is if he makes money of a card bottom line. So he tries to extend cottos career and make some more money of him. Just like he is doing with pacquiao and margarito. He counts on the country pride from mexico, philliphines and PR to sell fights.

    Boxing is more like the WWE or UFC, where the big popular names are the ones making money and fighting big cards. While the young, talented and hungry fighters have to beg to get big fights.
