I have been analyzing this fight, and will be very interested to see the odds on this one, anything more than 4 to 1 warrants some serious cash on McCloskey, only the biggest fool in the whole of Ireland wouldn't bite on it. I could be biased because unless an Irishman is going against a Haitian, I will always back the Irishman, and if the fisticuffs is between two Irishmen, then I back the whiter of the two.
nono:bart you need heart and ortiz as none the guy licks khans ass and isnt bothered that khan called him a B class fighter at best, he also did not rematch maidana and he is okay with this :-( no heart no desire imo
Yes he has. Ryan Barrett's a southpaw. In answer to do thread, not really. I mean, Khan's taller, and has a longer reach. With McCloskey's hands always being low and Khan's being very fast, I can see Khan landing the jab consistantly throughout. Plus, I wouldn't be too confident in McCloskey's ability to close the distance against a constant mover with quick feet like Khan.
I dont think hes got any chance, but I imagine a lot of Irish will come over so should create a good atmosphere.
nono:nono No need to bull****, I said nothing of the sort...I said McCloskey can beat Khan. Do you really think a boxer needs to be p4p#1 to beat Khan? LOL (I feel sorry for you, if you really do!) Prescott did a job on Khan, and as far as I remember he isn't p4p#1 or anything near it. Do I think McCloskey can beat Khan...if Paul fights his usual fight, well...DEFINITELY!...and we'll see if I'm right, if and when, the fight happens.
Dont know if Laz has already posted this or not but it looks like the fight is very close to getting signed http://www.londonderrysentinel.co.uk/sport/McCloskeyKhan-camps-get-closer-to.6702969.jp
i think this irish guy has a great shot at Ko'ing khan he's no push over if khan wants to win he better not overlook him,
No, hardly any chance. He doesn't have the footwork. He's fairly good up close and mid range as far as slipping shots, upper body movement is fair, but Khan doesn't have to be there for him. Khan can keep it long, and McCloskey from what I've seen will not have an answer as he's flat footed. Plus let's be honest, slipping shots and using reflexes against plodding Europeans is one thing, but against some of the best handspeed in the sport its going to be a severe examination of that defensive style.
I give McCloskey about a 15% chance of victory. I'll put a sneaky tenner on him, but I wont be expecting to see that tenner again to be honest......... War McCloskey!!!!!
Mcclosky does not hit hard enough to stop Amir Khan....... So hows he going to win..? by out boxing, out speeding, out thinking Amir Khan...?
