If this fight goes ahead, I'll go to Manchester for it.

 

I guess we can assume it to be a done deal in all likelyhood, as the BBC seem pretty sure.

The more I think about it the more I think it's probably a better fight than the Murray option. Murray would have been a great one to promote, could of been massive selling fight.. but it's achilles heel being that he's a lightweight.

Let's hope Mccloskey has a good training camp.. turns up in good condition.. and pulls out the performance of a lifetime, to give us something more than someone being a punch bag for 5 rounds.

We can be sure in general the complete nobheads that frequent there will be going "KHAN IS DUCKING XYZ, WHO THE F**K IS MCCLOSKEY GARR GARR BARR", and so on... completely forgetting the fact he has opted to fight in the UK prior to opponent selection and so obviously the options are limited. We need to see this for what it is, A "Keep-busy" bout in order to setup the July unification fight.

For Mccloskey it's going to be an amazing opportunity to not only win ( as many barely-known-to-the-common-man UK world boxing title holders have)... but the difference to others being he becomes an instant household name in the process due to Khan's position.
