Because that is your only reasoning for thinking McCloskey wins. Do you not realise the transition Khan has made since that fight? Look at his body, it's completely unbalanced. His body is in almost a V-shape, similar to that of Tommy Hearns, with his upper-body being vastly greater in size than his legs and therefore massively hindering his balance and ability to take a shot. Now compare that with his body shape in the Maidana fight and notice the difference. Now, I think Maidana's power is overrated but he hits harder than Prescott, who's power is also overrated, Khan was able to take big shots from Maidana and here the final bell, and Maidana definitely hits harder than Prescott and his style allows him to land more on Khan than McCloskey.

Secondly look at how undisciplined he is. He comes out getting involved in a fight right away and standing at the perfect range for Prescott to land. Now, once again, contrast that to the Maidana fight where he very rarely stayed in one place for too long and when he did he made sure he was protecting himself sufficiently. The point being that he has also come on as a fighter to a large degree tactically as well as physically and knows how to stick to a gameplan. If he can stick to a gameplan against a guy who constantly tried to swarm him like Maidana, he can damn well stick to a gameplan against a flat-footed McCloskey.

I suggest you either watch some of Khan's fights under Roach or take off the rose-tinted glasses, because either you're completely oblivious to the improvements Khan has made or you are filled to the brim with blind patriotism, which doesn't reflect favourably on you if that's the case.

Some of what you say may well be true, though I'd very much doubt round 10 against Maidana was part of Roach's gameplan.

Of course, but how Khan dealt with it was. Constantly moving away from Maidana or holding on for dear life, as opposed to running straight back towards him, like he did against Prescott which resulted in him getting splattered, which further proves my point of the improvements he has made.

By the way he did initially try to back off after getting hit in the Prescott fight, he just wasn't in any shape to do it by then.

He has improved dramatically since then, and he has probably the best trainer in the world in his corner, but the fight came very, very close to being stopped in round 10 (he looked sketchy to me at times in round 6 also).

The scorecards were a lot closer than anybody would have thought they would be before the fight...and Khans chin was better than expected, though he was definitely hittable...and he isn't invincible, he was walking in the wrong direction during one of the clinches in round 10 and Maidana was too tired (and probably still sore) to finish the job off.

One way or the other, should be a class fight!

I've watched the fight a few times now, and he was definatley looking at Mccloskey and consciously defending himself when that punch landed. I can only assume he just wasn't concentration 100% and still thinking about the referee, either way there's nothing to take away from Mccloskey in it.

Lauri had his hands up and was looking right at Dudey before/as he punched, he even tensed a bit before the punch, but was too slow or stupid to move back or duck...sweet punch!
