James Toney and Floyd Mayweather boxing style

    How would you describe their fighting style? They fight pretty similar in which they are both boxing wizards, great counterpunchers, and have somewhat similar defense. How different were they in terms of skills and technique?
    Toney in his prime was lovely to watch as was as a young Mayweather Jr.

    That's probably why they're so similar defense wise. I copied my garbage emptying technique from my neighbour.

    james toney style is much more crowd friendly he makes you miss with subtle movement will be right in the pocket an countering will floyd is a master defensive fighter but use his foot speed as much as head movement an hand speed an is not in as many crowd pleaseing fights

    The other one runs while doing the shoulder roll (until he lost his mobility) and using his elbows, ducks extremely low while the other stays in the pocket and uses both left and right shoulder roll.

    They're not one and the same.

    You need to study their ****. Yeah Toney shoulderrolls, watch him break down Nunn.

    they both use the shoulder roll a lot. FLoyd is more fleet footed then tony and faster. Tony is a better combination puncher and a better puncher. I think Tony is a better counter puncher as well.
