Name a fighter you though didn´t have any future in boxing and became an elite fighter afterwards (skills, charisma, whatever the reason)

Martinez, though i'm not yet completely sold on him being elite. but he might be going down that route

Being elite is proving you've got the knowledge and the tools to not only deal with a top rated boxer, preferably a champion, but you simply destroy him in most aspects of the game.

Only one I can think of right now. I mean what more do you need to see to believe in him. I turned believer after the first Williams fight. Martinez is the truth above 147.

I would say Pacquiao... I never really liked Pacquiao in the past when he was coming up. I compared him to the Tazmanian devil... just a wirlwind of punches but no skill and no strategy. He really improved the last few years and has become a complete fighter.

Andre Ward up until the Miranda fight. I watched him in the olympics and a lot of his early pro fights and I didnt think he would become anything. I thought his style was very amatuerish and he was just an RJJ wanna be..... boy was I wrong. He def turned into something special.

Martinez is a very athletic fighter with below average skills. He getting overrated, just as PW was.

Juan Diaz. I remember seeing him fight in Panchito Bojado's pro debut on a Zab Judah undercard, and thinking, I like that chubby kid, but he isn't going anywhere. Never would have thought he'd be beating the likes of a fighter such as Popo Freitas.
