    today.

    Make that 99%. Audley Harrison is the second biggest name amongst active British boxers. The only bigger name is David Haye.

    David Haye is only this big because he beat Audley Harrison.

    Audley Harrison is the King maker of British boxing. Audley is the English Oscar de la Hoya. Audley Harrison is still the Golden Boy.

    I am reminded of a quote by the famous silent film director Erich von Stroheim.

    “If you live in France and you have written one good book, or painted one good picture, or directed one outstanding film, 50 years ago, and nothing ever since, you are still recognized as an artist and honored accordingly... In Hollywood – in Hollywood, you’re as good as your last picture. If you didn’t have one in production in the last three months, you’re forgotten, no matter what you have achieved before this."

    Audley Harrison is an Olympic Gold Medallist. Maybe in some places they only judge him on his last fight. In Latvia they still respect him for what he has achieved. This is why Audley has "no apology" to make.

    I don't understand why Audley is getting such stick for this. Lots of British fighters went abroad to fight competition closer to their level. Ted Kid Lewis, Ken Buchanan, Lloyd Honeyghan, and more recently Ricky Hatton, Joe Calzaghe and Carl Froch.
