Yeah, he should look to impress in his next few outings. I'm not sure if he'll go out of his way to be more aggressive, it just doesn't seem to be his nature. He's not one to waste anything, or just throw punches for the sake of throwing punches, but he's a big, strong, accurate puncher who's tough to crack. I feel like he's a step above all but the absolute elite of his weight, who just happen to be the absolute elite of the sport in general. I'd really like to see him in with Berto, its a good fight for both, and I think Clottey beats the crap out of him.

I think clottey thought he won enough rounds to win the fight so could ease up in the 12th, it didnt work out for him, but one judge had clottey winning...!

Well he's fighting a tune-up just about exactly 1 year later from his last fight. We'll see if he's any different.

Going back in time before the firght between Pac and Clottey, Pacquiao had an insane winning streak like a serial killer on a run. So Clottey didn't want that same beating like those guys had against the Pacman. Without his own trainer in his side, Clottey didn't have a plan B from Pac's assault. The result....a turtle shell technique just to survive and not getting knocked out.

Clottey has fought anyone they put against him. He was always willing to exchange punches against anyone. He was really good against Cotto and the fight could've gone either cuz it was a close fight. That knockdown plus the homecourt advantage by Cotto has given him the nod.

.......by the way, I wonder how that feels after getting punched on your arms 1000x by Pac >.>

Have you ever thought about Cotto is not that good? Two fighters of about equal caliber fighting each other usually ends in a close fight like this.

Clottey would have been a hard fight anyway but I do think the cut affected Cotto a lot

Scored it 116-114 Clottey in that fight. Clottey won that ****

Clottey is one of my favorite active boxers. Before hand injuries in the Margarito fight, he was putting on a beautiful display and also whooped an uncharacteristically motivated Zab Judah.

That said, Cotto may have been bothered by the cut. I think the bodyslam is the equalizer, though.

Man i dont know, he looked pretty shitty in his fight against pacquiao. He didnt deserve that fight against pacquiao. Im not saying hes not a good fighter but his next fight is against some guy calvin green. A joke. this guy has like 20 something wins and like 6 losses. Cmon now. Hes an okay fighter but clottey doesnt do enough to win in my opinion.

And no i dont think he will ever look good as he did against cotto

Clottey gets too much **** since the pac fight the guy was actually a top contender. I think he lost a split decision against Margo at the time where Margo was considered the most avoided. he is still part of the top say 7-8 if he stays in 147. the problem is that before the pac fight commercially he did not have mass or even cult appeal and wasn't as vocal as other fighters. But he was a very tough champion. Now without a doubt he's past his prime might even be shot but i'll put this down to inactivity.

    1. He was a pretty good fighter with a solid jaw and a solid defense.
    2. Cotto hasnt been the same since the Margo loss.
    3. The Clottey-Pac fight is really suspicious.

Thats the thing, ignoring the Pac fight, he is a very solid fighter and a hard fight for anyone. Now considering the Pac fight, he is going to have a very hard time getting any meaningful fights after that, no one will want to pay to see him fight and at the same time even the top welters have a good chance of loosing to him. Terrible risk/reward ratio.

he had/has a very good CV, Chico, Judah, Marg, Cotto. the loses were very close its just since the cotto fight he's appears to lose steam halfway through the fight. still a good fight who deserves respect
