The "move" to Showtime is for one fight and one fight only. There is no long term contract in place.

Mayweather vs Pacquiao will be on HBO PPV where it belongs :deal

void believes that pac will knock him cold, and by that he'll be worth **** in the face of the boxing world. his sr knew it so well coz he was a witness when pac killed hatton and odlh. he cant match the strenght of the midget and that is what he is scared of, humiliation. he is a black slick boxer and undefeated and most defensive but once pac will hit his ass, he knew he will sleep like hatton ing the canvas. surely he is also taking drugs right now coz he is crazy like his father.:deal

I don't think so, at least I hope not. It's in his best interest to keep options open and allow different networks to compete for big fights that he puts on. If he wants to continue matching fighters up against in house or shot one then he will probably work with Showtime until they get fed up with him. Once he is ready to make real fights, HBO will be there and will pay top dollar.

Technically I would say it was a catchweight...for no other reason than Pacquiao moving up 2 weight classes, and De La Hoya moving down a weight class.

If De La Hoya had been consistently fighting at 147lbs, then obviously it's not a catchweight. But 147lbs was the number thrown out so that these two guys could meet in the ring, a catchweight.

A lot of people see it like that. Although technically it not true. Oscar hadn't been at WW for a number of years, but agreed to make 147 to face PAC without knowing whether he could even make the weight. You can see the difference between a healthy del la Hoya at 154 and a drained one at 147. However this ain't PAC fault it's actually oscars.

But to me a catchweight is a weight to fighters agree to meet at which is at opposite ends of their current weightclass.

I get the idea a lot of people think this happened at 145, floyd probably did as well by looking on boxrec. Oscar screwed his weight up its his fault he got battered in the ring, at that age you should never move down again. It rarely works in your favour.

It's also funny that Mayweather is using the "this boxer beat that and I beat that boxer" to his advantage. He feels just because he beat Mosley he beat Margarito too.

Not to mention he really really did his research on Pacquiao. Damn, Pac is really under his skin!

    Exactly.

In my opinion this was all messed up by Pacs team. Had they just agreed to the blood testing we would already be talking about the results of the fight.

If your clean you take the test. Dont talk about its a principal or all that crap. If someone spreads rumors about me using drugs and thats what the talk is i go take the test and prove them wrong. Unless im taking drugs then i say im offended and i have never proven positive in a drug test before.

Its simple as that. Everyone i have talked to about this says the same damn thing except the druggies here at work. Funny how i get those responses from only the druggies.
