like a great idea and a great move for boxing. Kevin (SD,TX) Hey Spider Dan,Will there be a Fight Camp 360 on Pacquioa/Mosley ? Dan Rafael (12:09 PM) Yes, that is Showtime's plan with at least one episode to air in prime time on CBS. :good
bells and whistles. i like it. bring them in with a known draw and you can slowly work in the up and comers when the show has people's attention. and god willing, it'll replace 2 and a half men in that time slot.
This is perfect man. People just flipping through channels will see the preview on CBS and might want to get showtime to see it. Hell at least they'll know about our sport a little more and might be interested to continue to watch it. I love this. Really do.
To be honest I could give 2 ****s if Boxing is on CBS or what suits get paid to broadcast it. Ill be watching regardless. Honestly who cares about the casual..
People that don't want boxing to become even more of a niche sport. Not everyone just starts as a hardcore fan ya know.
At one time CBS was really into boxing. There is a rather rich history there. I'm hoping the current situation leads to CBS routinely showing boxing on free TV.
:deal I'll watch this sport even when its driven underground after the victory of the lizardmen in World War Three.
pacs story is the perfect vehicle to introduce the non boxing fan to the most dramatic spectacle in sports. he is a guy that people can root for and he delivers the excitement. his story and the pageantry surrounding a big fight should bring millions of non fans into the ranks of casual fans at least.
But by then the lizardmen would have wrangled us up and forced to fight in blood arenas for their amusement.
The move to get Pac on Showtime, and the Fight Camp slot on CBS are great things for the sport. Showtime gettin Pac means more competition, which means more of a drive to get better fights by both networks. Better fights means WE WIN. CBS getting in means more people being aware of the sport. Means more young people taking up the sport. This means WE WIN.
