Roach: "Sergio keeps his hands down, Chavez could come over with that right all night." That sure worked well for Pavlik, Cintron and Williams. But no, Chavez Jr will solve the puzzle!
yes i have been pushed to the limits by a coach. your entire reasoning explains why you were only an amateur...didnt have the heart or head to go anywhere. pretty much anyone can be an amatuer boxer...go to a club, learn a little, then register...not too difficult. point being, as an athlete or coach you never let a losing mentality get in your head, if you do, you've already lost...which iam assuming you did quite a bit.
Oh God, go write Rocky Balboa 7 or something. I should get a crack at Floyd Mayweather, for if I only beleive in myself and practice "The Secret", I could win! yay! pizza and pop for everybody! Grow up dude. World-class athletics almost universally requires world-class genes and raw talent, that is molded by the right person at the right time. You've been watching too much Disney.
i hafta think he said this with a smirk...let's see if he can take on a A. Gomez or a Foreman-Wolak winner (or loser)
wow so you still dont get it do you? we are talking about world class boxers here, not your terrible make-believe amatuer career. Do you think people get to that point by thinking "oh jeez, i dont know if i can do this, he might be better than me" no they dont ya jackass. winners win because they believe in themselves and the work they put in...i can tell you only hang out with losers BUT, if you ever meet a winner ask them. Not really a Floyd fan but he said it best... "If you dont think you're the best fighter in the ring, than why are you there?" and he is right...and undefeated.
http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=284671 People don't even think he'd beat David Lemiuex
Roach is his coach, of course he is going to talk him up. My question is why are people taking this serious? I'm sure Freddie knows Martinez is better, he's hardly going to say it though is he!
Well, this is Roach after all. He saw something in DLH, he saw something in Hatton, he saw something in Cotto. And the two guys that Martinez did beat at the elite championship level both don't have any good defenses. If Roach polishes Jr enough, and Martinez ages a bit more, then of course, Jr would have a chance.
If Chavez Jr can beat Martinez why not push for that fight? :hey LMAOL!!! Roach is a good trainer he is just becoming annoying!
