For all those claiming Mundine has been making a Fortune ! 18000(probably 10000) pfv for the Wood fight, Hoping for 40000 for the rematch. Do the math after he pays his opponent ,fox takes half after the product cost come out! And And And. There would not be millions left .

So he would have made about the same as a top NRL player from the Wood fight. Not bad for 5 rounds though, rather than a tough off season and 24 rounds or what ever it is now days

It's still a pretty good earn for fighting a relative novice.

18,000 ppv at $50 a pop brings in close to a mil. If that's split down the middle, Boxa made around $500k from the ppv alone. Add in the $$$ from the other revenue streams and Choc's done ok.

I reckon they'll definitely double the ppv for the rematch. Boxa's strategy is still making $ense from their perspective.

You forgot to mention the $2.75 generated by ringside ticket sales, and whatever the cheaper seat generated.

I do not believe 18k PPVs at all, apart from the Green fight, 2nd Solomon and prob Geale they rarely hit anywhere near that.

I agree. I don't believe they sold 18K ppv for the Wood fight either. The circus has been going since year 2000 and many casual sport fans may have bought a few ppv's over the years but surely the casual fans have nearly completely dropped off from buying them now when he is just fighting no name bums.

In general Australians don't follow boxing at all.

I wouldnt be surprised if the Woods fight did 18K, Mundines worse PPV is significantly worse than that figure but still more than I would expect and had no advertising etc whatsoever.

Do u not understand about all the costs of putting on a fight? Airfares , Hotels . Padding the stadium when it doesn't sell out(which is Always) Mundine is making **** All.

I've got a pretty good idea.

Airfares and hotels wouldn't amount to too much (who is he paying for?). He's not paying the undercard. Wood's $250k purse would've for the most part been paid by Fox/Contender. Choc would've forked $100k for the drop to middle.

Even if Mundine is only making 2 or 300k per fight it's a great deal more than what he would be earning if he was actually fighting live opponents over the last few years.

18k? Main Event's advertising campaign on ESB really paid off. lol Struggle to believe it did that much, even with the publicity of the contender series. Mundine's fights doing any buys outside of family and friends I find hard to believe.
