do you consider David Lemieux a small middleweight?

No, he's about average to me. Just like Abraham was average at MW but small at SMW. He's sure got a small reach tough. I think that he's gonna catch a title, but one day a good boxer with a longer reach will dominate him.

He's not small. He just has short arms. Kind of like Antuofermo.

His arms are so short he is unable to wipe his own arse, that is why he keeps Russ Anber around.

Short arms + thick upper body + good punching technique = devastating power punches.

David isn't small, he's short. Ish.

Russ has slowly been teaching David all of what he knows about counterpunching. Imagine a counterpuncher that hits like a mule. The kid is 22 at the moment... give it some time, and you'll find yourself ashamed of making such comment towards him. :good

His short arms allow him to produce more power. Remember that hitting a spot with small fist will make more harm than doing the same with a bigger fist, I suppose David's fist is proportional to his arms thus can't be any big. I wanna see more of this guy, he's sure an upcoming star. He'd beat most of the guys in the division just now, there is time for improvement as he is young.

    Wasn't Tyson short-armed too? :huh:huh

Maybe on the short term, but it'd be close should it happen 3-4 fights from now for David.

Let's hope Lemieux has the "Chin" to go with the power & it won't matter.

They were fully planning on challenging Martinez for the title in two fights before the WBC made Martinez the superchamp....so I can't imagine his team giving a **** how small he is.

I wish him well, it's just that I fear his short reach will work against him when he comes up against quality opposition.

Hes just 22 and hits like a mule as many have mentioned. Give him a couple of years and i think we have a great on our hands. A couple of things i like about this guy. For an aggresive guy, he isnt hit all that much. Now you could say that it is because he isnt facing the greatest opposition but it could also be because he is very well schooled. Also, i like the way he can mix it up and change plans in the ring.
