Gamboa easily defeated Salido, despite the flash KO,common to see on his fights-he dominated most rounds and if its wasnt becasue the stupidity of hitting Salido on the canvas,he should have won that by KO.
I dont have a doubt Juanma will win this one,and depends of the shape of Salido, the fight shouldnt go the 12 rds.
besides,Juanma is fighting in town and always represents an advantage.
would this be a thermometer to assest how a Juanma-gamboa will end? is Salido another Mtabgwa ?

Gamboa did not easily defeated Salido. Salido was live in that whole fight. Idk if Juanama would look better though. Thats also my question. I think Juanama is a better slugger than Gamboa so I'm sure his style will match better with salido's.

Idk... shoudl be a entertaining fight regardless.. but I think you have to favor Juanma for the eventual showdown with Gamboa, because so many flaws in Gamboa have been noticed through opposition compared to Juanma... at the same time, Gamboa is getting better and is so fast, he's a flash, and Juanma truly hasn't faced anyone near Gamboa

i didnt see gamboa in danger all night long...salido is a brawler with a solid chin,a warrior that keeps coming, and gamboa was very carefull not to get in an inside war.
But Juanma has a better punch and his left hook should finish the fight within 7rds
but, never understimate Salido ...if he is in shape and ready he is gonna be there for war.

Good post. This will be a very good comparison fight but it's still very difficult to compare as boxing is about styles and styles make fights. Mtagwa gave Lopez a real scare and lasted the full 12 rounds and Gamboa anhiliated Mtagwa in 2 one sided rounds while he looked invincible like Superman.

In skills, Gamboa looks way superior to Lopez as he dispatched Mtagwa like a little kid. Gamboa's speed, power and accuracy was just unbelievable.

Lopez should defeat Salido but it will not be a walk in the park. Salido has a very tough chin, ( unlike the other people that Lopez has KO'd ) so Salido will not go down with 1 or 2 punches like the others. Salido may not be that skilled but he is technically sound and has decent power.

Salido could repeat a Mtagwa dosis ( or finish the job ), as he is better than Mtagwa. If Salido gets Lopez in major trouble and last the full 12 rounds, then it will mean that Lopez is way overrated and should lose to Gamboa because he has looked bad against 2 of Gamboa's opponents that Gamboa has made it look simple.

That's the way I see it but look for Lopez to score a late TKO by accumulation of punches but rest assured that Salido will give Lopez some very scary moments! :good

Finesse mi hermano no offense, but brother Gamboa was winning extremely easy on every judges scorecard's even after he was deducted 2 points and the knockdown! That clearly states who was in control the entire fight, it was all Gamboa. Salido only won 1 round and that was the round of the knockdown, the rest was all Gamboa.

In the 12th, Gamboa had the KO but lost his cool and hit Salido on the floor. How can you say that Gamboa dodn't easily defeat Salido? Doesn't make any sense... :-(

Gamboa did not dominate the fight from start to finish you lunatic.

And even if JuanMa destroys Salido it won't have any indication as to how a fight between him and Gamboa will pan out. Just as the Mtwaga comparison isn't. Styles make fights.

I think JuanMa will knock him out within 7 rounds.

Salido is a very big featherweight i think Salido is much bigger than Juanma and Gamboa, plus He have a great chin and superb heart make him tough to stop, I wouldn't be surprised if Juanma could not KO Salido. Marquez could not do it.

Gamboa did won that fight going away, the only round that Salido won clearly was the one that he scored the KD and he was losing the round and on top of that is another phantom knockdown ( not a clean knockdown)

Then please show proof of all the rounds that Gamboa lost in your opinion, because the judges didn't see that. Salido only won the round of the knockdown, the rest was all Gamboa. It's incredible how people let their emotions interfere with their judgement. :-(

You know they are young and not use to c the fighters from the Island do well, like in the 30's. 40's 50's, 60's and late 70's, until Casamayor, Gomez and Hurtado show them a little bit of waht was coming, well gang is here now and they keep coming!

Totally true! JC Gomez was the first, then Casamayor and Hurtado captured World Titles as well. Now we have almost 30 Cuban ex-amateurs campaigning in the pros, a record for sure. I remember when we only had " the Team Freedom " composed of around 8 boxers but only Joel and Diosbelys actually managed to put Cuba back on the map. The rest had immense talent but decided to waste it on Miami's party scene.

Garfios, do you know who is the most recent Cuban defector? Was it Ugas? :good
