If you can't see the sense in my most recent post to you before this then there is no sense wasting my time explaining something so obvious, because by your logic there is no such word as luck.

I think HBO was extremely biased in that fight. Khan took a beating in that fight from rounds 1-12. In the rounds Khan won he was taking flush shots to the body and head. Maidana is a ****in tank in there.

If not for the knockdown in round 1 and the point deduction Khan would have been forced to trade more and not RUN which would have completely changed the fight. Khan looked extremely limited in this fight. He cant fight on the inside and has no defense. He has great speed and relies on that but speed can only take you so far. I don't see him as world champ for much longer. He has way too many flaws.

I've seen fights be stopped prematurely, of course. But I can't say I've ever seen a judge stop the fight. That's all I'm saying, dude. That's all I'm saying.

If my failure to understand why the judge should have stopped the Khan-Maidana fight is annoying you, then I apologise.

lol of course. I was just messing with you.

    But anyway, considering the following:

    - Khan was the champion.
    - Khan was way ahead on the scorecards.
    - Khan would then prove to have enough fight in him to not only survive the remaining 2 and half rounds, but to fight back in spurts too.

I think Cortez' decision to not stop the fight, was a very good one.

I was there ringside and Khan was not near being stopped. He kept his hands up and whenever it seemed as if he was in trouble, he would throw up his arms and gesture to display he was coherent. The fight was amazing in any sense. It was not close. Khan won at least by 3 rounds. Luck is an easy way to destroy the skills set of a boxer. Ali was "lucky" by not getting knocked out by George Foreman or Earnie Shavers. He was "lucky" because of his conditioning, ability to absorb damage and dodge punches. It does not work. It was a great fight, he overcame an amazing obstacle and won, fair and square.

The ref should have stopped it? Why? Was Khan badly hurt and the ref failed to protect him?

An example of when the ref should have stopped a fight is Enzo Macs last fight, NOT Khan-Maidana.

It was a good decision considering he was able to continue, Khan legitimatley won a close fight.

I agree. The point deduction was BS, the 10th should have been scored 10-8 and it could have been stopped, too. The way it played out it was a close win for Kahn, but under different circumstances I could see Maidana winning. Very evenly matched fight, and a good clash of styles. There needs to be a rematch.

There are truths on both sides really. Khan was lucky the ref was favouring him but Maidana is lucky that KD was at the end of the round otherwise he could have been stopped.

Look, people give crap to Khan because he was in trouble against Maidana but they're underrating Marcos. Ortiz is another really good young fighter and you all saw what happened against Maidana. Khan did a good job and showed a lot of heart. I don't think he'll have a long sucessfull career, but that's my personal opinion.
