I might be naive here, but I think Witter beats them both...

I don't see why the KO matters so much when he's winning fights fairly comfortably, but I can see where you're coming from.

And I agree - he batters Witter.

Seriously, what has Witter ever done to deserve being compared to the likes of Bradley?

I just find your "Bradley is elite, Witter wasn't near" argument laughable.

Witter suffered one loss before Bradley/Alexander, and that was early in his career with Zab Judah, a fight I'm sure he had less than 2 weeks notice in. He held wins over Vivian Harris, DeMarcus Corley, Andriy Kotelnik (clearly becoming one of his best wins) and Lovemore N'dou. If you're going to throw the argument in that Bradley is 'elite' at his class, especially when he's at Junior Welterweight and compared to other divisions there's hardly anything there, and he hasn't fought Maidana, Khan, Kotelnik, at least have the decency to not disregard a fighter who also has a good resume at 140.

Infact, I seem to remember Bradley/Witter being competitive. Although it's not the scorecard I had, a SD win doesn't entirely convince me Bradley is that much better than Witter on their best days. Bradley is no more elite than Khan or Alexander in my eyes. They've took different paths, they all have decent wins. They're the top of the Jr. Welterweight division, ain't no doubt, but trying to say Witter wasn't even near it makes it very hard for me to take you at all serious.

A dodgy scorecard doesn't make the fight any closer than it was.

This whole illusion that he was battered isn't any more true than Naz was battered by Barrera. These fights were competitive at points and these silly explanations of the fights being an absolute whitewash add to people's overlooking of certain fighters, I believe Junior is one of them. There's circumstances you simply can't deny and it goes into the realms of discussion of what would happen on their best days. I don't see any evidence that allows Junior Witter to just be so lightly disregarded in these fights. He's a slick, awkward switch hitter. He's not the most entertaining to watch but i think he could give any Junior Welterweight hell on his day. I think you'd be a fool to say otherwise.

I never said it wasn't competitive. It was a clear win for Bradley however. My point was that using a dodgy scorecard as reasoning for it being a closer than it was doesn't make sense.

Oh, I agree. I think Bradley won it hands down. I just think the fight was competitive enough to warrant speculation about what would happen if Witter was in a better place. It's something you hate to hear when people make excuses for a fighter but I don't think Witter was at his best and think he could've performed better.

I'll have to give it another watch tonight too, along with the Alexander fight. I remember him coming back into the Alexander fight but the injury meaning he had to pull out.

Witter and Hatton would beat the pair of them. They are both over hyped fighters.Witter should have beaten Bradley first time out and Bradley knows it,that is why he never gave the guy a rematch.

Fair enough, to say he was nowhere near is being harsh on him - as you say his CV says he deserves better. However, the irony is you're only strengthening my case.

If we accept that at the time they fought, Witter was still world class - and to be fair he looked up there against Harris in his previous fight; then you have to accept that given his win in that fight and his subsequent wins, all of which are against very solid, or highly regarded opposition that Bradley is at least a level above.

This is exactly the kind of statement that riles me. Witter should have beaten Bradley? What does that mean? It's a nonsense statement given how the fight unfolded.

Over-rated? His 27-0 record, which ain't padded by any stretch says otherwise.

Hatton would beat the pair of them? On What basis? I'll tell you what though, Bradley V Hatton would have been a brilliant fight. They're made for each other.

Fair enough, I can see a subjective argument based on a P4P argument that he's not elite - but IMO last nights win puts him firmly in the P4P top ten. Has everyone already forgotten how highly regarded Alexander was prior to the fight?

For what it's worth the ring agrees, he's been in their top 10 P4P for quite a while. So based on your criteria he is elite.

Bradley is a very good fighter, he's proven it with the fighters he has beaten, it annoyed me a little when Nelson described him as 1D.

Bradley has more of a right than Andre Ward to be pfp top 10, just because Ward is slightly better known because of the super six he gets rated more highly...

Imo: the elite fighters today are floyd, pac, juan, sergio, hopkins, montiel, donaire, segura, wlad.

There isn't a clear number ten yet. It could be pascal, froch, ward, bute, bradley and many others. That last spot is highly debatable whereas, imo, the top 9 are locks.

Alexander was the number 3 ranked fighter. Most picked bradley to ud him. A win over khan would be madly impressive because he would have then beaten every belt holder today (alexander got stripped of the ibf)

Can anyone think of any fouls that wouldn't have been in a Bradley/Hatton fight?
