Thanks Mush/Slap As neither Fitz or Murtagh have a punch between them it should be a 'war' without casualty!! Nice to see ***an back with a win, how did he look?
Having read the statement from Team McCloskey, I have to say that Team Khan come across as seriously arrogant and childish negotiators. I never thought that the offer would be that bad. I fully agree with the stance that McCloskey has taken regarding the fight, even if it is very dissapointing....
I wonder if that cut held up? Surprised to see Murtagh back so soon I thought that bugger would take months to heal properly
Hearing now that it was stopped in the 7th - due to a cut. He also said that Murtagh was ahead at the time - however the guy is biased towards Murtagh.
Have to wonder have far Fitz is going after this, a couple of weeks ago he's calling out Andy Lee but now he's taken 7 rounds to stop a near 40 year old career Lightmiddle who's not noted for his durability!!
Very bloody affair, I had Fitz winning 1,2,3 Murtagh looked good - apart from the blood, which got on my phone, face and hand - in rounds 4 and 5, Fitz took 6 for me again and the 7th was even enough, but you'd favour Fitz. Murtagh's camp thought their man was winning at the stoppage but I couldn't agree. Although we was fighting well and frustrating Anto, who did tend to get a bit wild, it was clear that the only one doing any real damage in there was Fitzgerald. fair play Murtagh though, he's a trooper and I think his shoulder was gone too by the first. In fact we were all surprised it got as far as 7 and that was down to his ability to manage the fight, despite the gash. which was spectacular all round :yep
Was it the same cut that stopped the last fight? Could the fact that Fitz isn't as good as he thinks the reason it went to the 7th? How near to the ring were you to get covered in Murtagh's blood?
Surely the bui need to start stopping some of these guys? Some of those guys were the pits even by hungarian standards! As for Fitzy bet Andy Lee is quaking in his boots after that performance! He needs to rematch Healy and then give Joe Rea a shot. If he's having wars with Murtagh its hard to see him getting above irish title level. On the plus side good to see Paul Griffin back with a win, I like the sound of himself and ***an getting it on for an irish title. Did Rigo and Willie have a face off there?
Does Healy still have the Lightheavy title he won off Waldron or has he vacated? Don't think the public would go for Fitz v Murtagh 3 but Murtagh does have a score to settle with Healy and I don't think he will ever see 11st again! A loss for one title doesn't seem to disqualify a challenge in a higher division, Healy lost to Moore/Spike/Fitz but still got his shot at Waldron Another option is Healy v Murtagh for the 12st title, didn't Fitz say he was vacating after Murtagh to fight for the WBF World 'title' (which WBF is though, there's two on the go?)
