Tszyu was considered great by his peers in his time both as an amateur and a pro. Combine that and you have a truly great fighter. Peerless offense (accuracy and timing). Perfect textbook punches. You will never see Tszyu throw wild hooks like Tim Bradley. :nono HOFamer and a borderline ATG. By the loose standards of most ATG lists you wouldn't be out of line if you called him an ATG. Very UNDERRATED.
Listen you silly child I watched Bramble and Mayweather fight in their PRIME. When Kostya became a pro he was one of the most decorated amateur champs in history. There was ABSOLUTELY NO NEED for Kostya to fight bums and they knew this. But here is the problem......by the time he fought BRAMBLE and MAYWEATHER those two guys WERE BUMS!!!!!!!! Again how many times before Kostya fought Bramble had he lost in a row PADWAN? Kostya faced completely FADED fighters in BRAMBLE and MAYWEATHER and he was TAKEN THE DISTANCE. And Roger was known for having a suspect chin. You NEVER SAW THESE fights because you were not even born or were what 3 yrs old. And again WHO IN THE **** SAID BRADLEY or ALEXANDER are HOF or ATG.......WHO SAID THEY BEAT Tzysu? That's right no one.
No-one is claiming Tszyu is an upper echelon ATG. You won't see him in many top 50 lists. However at 140 he was one of the greatest ever. I have him top 3 with JCC and Pryor.

Yep a kid thats the biggest Tszyu fan here and in fact had dinner with Jeff Fenech before his fight with Nelson and Tszyu's debut. Yep i was kid during Tszyu's whole career. You silly kid. If you actually saw those fights you would know. 1. Roger Mayweather only spoiled and tried to survive for 12 rounds and avoid getting knocked out. A modern comparison would be Kevin Johnson vs Vitali Klitschko. If he fought like he did against Chavez, Whitaker etc. he would have been KTFO very quickly. 2. Well said come to think of it the only fight Tszyu had trouble with at the start was Lopez and many still feel he edged it like he did and then there was the Phillips but with most Australians and people in the know Tszyu had very bad Prep going into the fight and was in Court most of the time with a $4 million legal battle hanging over his head against former manager Bill Mordey. But every simple fan that knows nothing only brings up that he lost against Vince not what was going on.

Your boxing knowledge is embarrassing. :yep One thing I'm sure of is that if he was Mexican or Puerto Rican he would be considered an ATG.
First of all I am not talking about his contemporaries. I was referring to the divisions history of great lightweights bypassing it to go to welterweight. But by all means tell me does he beat any of the following: DLH, Pernell, Chavez (past his prime weight as his prime was 130-135 but I am talking around the Taylor fight), Meldrick Taylor, Mosley, PBF, Pacquaio.......do you want me to go on. I haven't even put him in mythical matchups with people from eras long gone. I think out of all the people I named, only Taylor might people think he would have a chance. But if you look at that match-up closely you should know why Tzysu would have all sorts of issues.
