I think it was even less at around 65 seconds. Amazing that people still lap this bull**** up.

I used to get sick of hearing Cooper telling that story of the long interval and changed glove but he finally relented with the publishing of his last biography a few years back where he finally acknowledged there was no long interval.

An interesting 1, I've heard these before about Tyson, some people say hes around 5-10 to 5'11 though. Achieving what he achieved at 5'9 would be a hell of an achievement, he did look taller than Tua though, unless Tua is really 5'6

Can Lefthook32 shed any light on Tysons height??

Another is some who say Wlad Klit is 'only' 6'5. Plus Bradley looked to be 5'4 last night

If fighting prowess was based on hand size, I'd be a world champ.

That Billy Papke sucker-punched Stanley Ketchel in the throat during referee Jeffries' instructions, a blow from which Ketchel never recovered and which led to him losing his middleweight title.

    Never happened.

This is a conflicting one,,,,,Willy in a interview with Sandy Sadler after his retirement said it did happen and that he told St Paul, MN scribe Don Riley he was going to do it in the 3rd round against Jackie Graves. Riley many times over the years said the same and gave a movement by movement account of how Willy never threw a punch in the round and won it on all three cards. Heres where it gets tricky though, Don wrote for the St Paul Pioneer Press but wasn't the writer for this bout, the scribe that was in his next day account in the paper wrote that Willy threw numerous punches in the 3rd round and didn't mirror Willy's or Don's account. So there you have it, we just don't know.

myth: ali developed the rope a dope to defeat foreman
fact: foremans footwork forced ali to the ropes.

foreman himself said saying that ali developed that tactic before the fight would be like firing an arrow into a wall then painting a target around it.

Ali defentely lands a punch. I think it was either a flash knockdown or a case of the punch you don't see. Liston was not counted out. He got up and they contuned fighting. The refree Jersey Joe Walcot was summend by Nat Fleischer who informed him that Liston was on the canis for more than 10 seconds. Posibily because Ali was standing over him and taunting him.
This may have been one of the rare times that Fleicher was wrong. Ali should have been sent to a netural corner before any count started. Walcot after talking with Fleischer stopped the fight.
