I don't see it happening. He'll always be an entertaining contender but his weight is what holds him back. I don't know why everyone was making a big deal about him being under 250 for his last fight when he only weighed 249.

Holy ****, one pound. Big deal

Don't think so. Maybe if he fights some ubscure paper champ in the future, and gets in a lucky shot or something but I don't see it happening.

    Two things need to happen:

    1. The Klitschkos need to retire

    2. Pigs need to start fl...I mean he needs to lose weight and get in shape.

Maybe. Haye will be gone by the end of the year and Vitali won't be around much longer, so they'll be some vacant belts to be had that I could see him winning. And then Wlad will knock him out.

His problem is that when he came on the scene he wasn't good enough to beat any Klitschko brother and now he is more experienced, he can't beat Tyson Fury.

    Shame really.

This. How bloody sad is it that a club fighter like Arreola is even being considered as championship material. Sweet lord he wouldnt have made a small hall show in the 90's. He would have been beating up homeless men in parking lots for Burrito's.

Scurla your a funny man, I would not go as far as saying Arreola is a bum, but yes certainly he would not be in the top 10 or 15 heavies at any point during the 1990s. Far to many heavies then were of higher condition and skills.

That being said, Arreola can become a champion as currently we have Vitali who is slowing down big time, Haye who is becoming softer by each day. So a vacant Belt could pop up and he could steal a title.

His positives and negatives are obvious-

    Postives
    Tough
    Naturally strong
    Decent volume puncher
His will to win is that of a bully and it works against a lot of fighters.

    Negatives
    Conditioning
    Boxing skills
    Boxing brain

Arreola is an attractive fighter in terms of marketable because he is American, and from a Mexican background. He comes forward, and has decent knock-out power.

But I can think of several fighters in America alone that are better but maybe not as attractive-

    T. Thompson
    E. Chambers
    R. Austin (maybe thats pushing it)

:deal Exactly. Who the hell has he beat to even suggest he is a serious title contender? The son of Tim Witherspoon, a retired McCline? It's laughable that a club fighter like Arreola is regarded as a title contender by beating nobodies and faded contenders who were never good enough to win a title even in their primes.

Whenever he's stepped up he has gotten his ass kicked. Hell a former light heavy beat him for christ sake. Arreola will never pick up a title unless it's some mickey mouse title that nobody has heard of.

He could pick up a title against a weak champion like Valuev, like Haye did.

if he loses alot of weight and improves his technique. at the moment, he is a tough brawler.
