It's just one guy's opinion, how is that hurtful to the sport?
I got Steve Collins in my top 10, and there's nothing anyone can do about it, not a ****ing thing.

Atg lists are all based on opinions. The guy probably grew up watching Chavez and Mike in his prime, both of whom had incredible runs and were compared to the ATGs at their peaks. The rest he probably went on footage and records. It's easy to leave a guy like Duran out of the top 10 if you go on that alone. And leaving guys like Greb off where there is no footage, hardly offensive and quite logical really.

why would a person attempt to make an ATG list if he only knows a few eras of boxing?

and it's not only knowing those eras but he should be able to link them together.

To be fair he seems to hold historical and cultural significance as a major factor in his weighting and when looking at that light it isn't the worst list I have ever seen.

Off the top of my head and without much thought:

1,2 and 3 are Robinson, Greb and Armstrong. I don't really mind which order they go as these are interchangeable IMO.

    4) Ali
    5 Joe Louis
    6 Duran
    7 SRL
    8 Langford
    9 Ezzard Charles
    10) Benny Leonard

Honestly any list that doesn't have Robinson at #1 is likely crap. I'll entertain Armstrong at #1, but only if you can really back that arguement up. One guy I constantly see on the P4P list who in my opinion has no place is Joe Louis. Yes the guy has 25 title title defenses, but take a look at the vast majority of them, the guy make Wlad's resume look impressive. Secondly, I can't fathem putting Joe Louis in a P4P list when he had a size advantage over all the guys whom beat him, past prime or not.

No he does not deserve a mention in the top 10, that's BEYOND ridiculous and insulting. Anyone that even tries to justify JCC deserving a spot in the top 10 should immediately go follow another sport because that's foolish. Tyson doesn't deserve a mention in the top 10 either.

Funnily enough I don't mind people not having Greb in their lists. Until 18 months ago I had never even heard of the guy. But a quick read up on his record is enough for me to consider him a top 3 fighter of all time.

What I can't fathom about this guys list tho, is that he includes Armstrong which means he knows exactly what he done throughout his career. But he ranks Tyson and JCC ahead of him. Just can't work it out.

This is a problem for me, a lot of people dont know about greb for example yet because everyone says he is one of the best they read a quick summery on the guy and lable him on of the best.
I think we should only judge fighters we have seen or studied really well. Im unable to make a atglist because I dont know a lot of the oldtimers, more of the 50/60 till now. I can do it based on that period but before that I would just be copying people who claimed that certain fighters belong in the top 10.
