True enough, but unfortunately its not like they are salaried employees turning up to work in an office. Boxers purses are directly proportional to the number of people that are prepared to spend cash to watch that particular fighter ply his trade.

What do you think the chances are of the guys mentioned in the poll getting a crack at a big purse in the future?

Whatever your career is (even sitting in an office) if you want to get to the top of it and be a big, you have to make sacrifices and go through difficult times and come out the other side still wanting to progress.

Whether that be getting punched in the face, or spending time away from your family in another country, or anything else.

I didn't become a pro boxer because I'm **** at it, and didnt want to get punched in the face, cut and accidentally headbutted for a living. Alexander is a professional boxer, and if he wants to reach to the top of the pile, then he should be aware of what he's got in store.

Kermit's was best (for dramatic effect and living up to his name)

Dirrell's gets bonus points for the dramatic leg trembles

and Alexander gets bonus points for the wrong side of head (comedy value)

Alexander. Just listen to him when the doctor's checking him out - it's worse than pathetic. If I remember right it went something like 'mwaahaaa... it stings'.

Lets face it, if Americans had it their way boxing would cease to be a contact sport.

His actions will have their own punishment, as you say. No big purses.

Just saying, when mixing pressure, stress, fatigue, doubt and pain all together you don't always get what you want. He had a way out of all that and he let it happen. Now he has to live with it.

seriously, watch the last 2 rounds of the Ortiz fight again.

Ortiz got absolutely destroyed, and wobbled back to the corner. The corner were going to stop it but Ortiz wanted to continue. He wobbled back into the centre of the ring and got absolutely blasted with some horrendous shots.

i'd emplo anyone in this thread to take just one of those shots from maidana.

He also went toe to toe with a knockout puncher like maidana.

I agree his post fight interview was lame, but he was just been honest. watch the fight again. Or check out his face after the fight to see if he realy quit to early. the guy took a beating

No contest. they both break down and start crying during the staredown before the first bell.

Ortiz states in the post fight interview that "Man... I'm too young to be stared at like that, did you see how scary he was?... his punches might have hurt!"

Alexander says that staring "Hurt his eyes" and that that Ortiz was using illegal mind tricks... possibly jedi.

Hard to disagree with that , he jumped clear out the f**kin ring !

Although in Cintropns defence Margarito already took his heart (TWICE ! )

Yes he is. He is already training in the gym and said he wants to fight in March April. Guy is a total punk.

Direll was a close second on my list , he took a big punch , but its the delay that give it away.

A delayed effect bodyshot yes , headhsot no , He saw an easy DQ and took it. It was Abrahams dumb ( and cheating ) ass that handed him it though !
