Bradley vs Marquez at 140...Who wins?

Check out my post, man. Let's say Bradley v Marquez happened next, and Bradley adopted the same strategy (walking forward with minimal defense)...I believe Marquez could take advantage of it, make him walk on to shots all night long (what Alexander should have been doing).

Bradley is the naturally bigger, but in terms of height, I would say it is very similar.

I think it would be an interesting bout at this point...but has to happen sooner rather than later.

 

The Bradley from the Alexander fight gets schooled, sorry but Bradley showed nothing exceptional the other night. I hope it was just down to a bad clash of styles... we'll see I guess come the Khan fight.

8-4 for JMM.

 

Marquez is a far superior craftsman but Bradley could just overpower him probably.

 

I used to say 60-40 Bradley. Im a huge fan of both JMM and Bradley but Bradleys footwork is pretty bad along with creating too many openings. A guy with JMM accuracy would pepper Bradley with hard hard shots. Not to mention Bradley is very open for an uppercut and who is the uppercut king in boxing?? Thats right JMM.

Also the one thing that gives JMM a better chance is that Bradleys chin is not exactly rock solid. He would definately taste the canvas. I agree that this has the makings of a FOTY contender.

Please GBP make JMM-Bradley or JMM-Maidana.
Right now in my opinion it would be favored JMMs way. 60-40.

Oh yea Alexander is a *****. When my dad saw the fight the next day he said the same thing. That guy was just looking for a way out. No way Alexander becomes great. If he is already showing weakness ala Ortiz this young then he has no future in boxing.

I doubt Marquez would take risk. He is just waiting for his retirement payday. If he wanted to go up hgher weight divisions, he could have done it earlier and not at this point of his career or age.

But if it happens, it would be like Juan Diaz vs. JMM again but Diaz now would have respectable power and bigger and more elusive while JMM would be older and slower. Do the maths---

 

I favor Bradley specially if Bradley uses his head once again.

 

Yes since Marquez is a known cherry picker. The only time he thought about cherry picking was against Morales but that fight ended up not getting made. He said he wants to fight either Khan or Berto. JMM is an actual throwback fighter.
None of that i will fight for the JMW title at 150 only if u have limited skills but not actual skilled same size fighters type of guy.

If the Khan or Berto fight dont get made then i think he fights Bradley for the 140lb title.

 

That's the thing, though. I don't see Bradley employing the same tactics against JMM. And if he did, I'm pretty sure he'll alter them once he finds out that JMM is catching him too much. But even then, in the Alexander fight I didn't see much wrong with his defence as he was coming in. I thought he moved pretty well and made Alexander hit air most of the time.

In regards to his size, yes, he's bigger in terms of weight and physicality. I think he'll be more imposing and daunting as he's charging in. His head may be a big factor too.

 

Bradley always does come in with his head forward and thats why the commentators were saying Alexander should throw uppercuts. I know Beristain is licking his heavily mustachioed lips looking at that footage.

I think the fight actually can get made since JMM would be making history.

 

I don't think he would employ the same strategy either, but if he did...I would give Marquez a good shot. Bradley would undoubtedly be the favourite though...Marquez is pretty untested above 135lbs.

 

I'd want nothing more than to see JMM become a 4-weight world champion, but my main concern for him in a Bradley fight, are the extreme roughhouse tactics he'll have to endure from a bigger and more youthful guy. Those untidy and difficult-to-predict flurries on the inside, coupled with a big, shiny head cutting his face up, makes Bradley a tough fight for him.

 

Not exactly cherrypicker. He was just contented to stay at his division and munch on whatever that division could offer him.

He fought Juan Diaz, Casamayor, Katsidis at the division he was comforatble and fought Floyd at 2 divisions up?

Juan Diaz, Casa, Katsidis are not exactly bad choices (although not exactly names that would make you say WoW) but if he tried to invade the 140's earlier, he would surely be remembered in a better light.

I think he has the skills to light up the 140 but what bothers me most is why did he not do it.

It used to be that when Pac was going up the weights, JMM was also going up. When Pac reached 17 he got stuck in 135.

 

The best combination puncher in the sport vs someone who likes to come forward?

It would be a repeat of Marquez/Katsidis.
