That's a good point. But if your talent deserves it you will get the big bucks. It's then down to the individual who he fights and how hungry he stays. I suppose the majority of sportsmen, not just boxers, are prone to be less motivated nowadays because of money.
I still say boxers who earn peanuts should have some form of retirement fund to fall back on after the efforts they put in throughout their careers.
It's not good to see former champs like eg; Frazier, Barkley etc, potless and showing physical frailties because of their sport! But then how you handle your money is down to the individual too!
But the boxers who hardly make a penny while they are fighting, let alone when they retire, those are the guys who could do with some help and advice financially. Like the guy said "boxing ain't no pillow fight".

Because Dana White owns the fighters like pieces of meat once they sign contracts.

    depends on who's getting paid.

    its all supply and demand.

nobody is going to fork 1 dollar to see Devon Alexander 'box'.

**** your UFC warriors. Boxers get paid from what people is willing to spend to watch the fights and it's not being decided by single person like Dana White.

Say what u want about UFC, but those are some happy ass fans! They get quality matchups every month with a stacked card! None of that "oh i'm not gonna fight him" crap. In UFC if u turn down a fight, u get stripped and to the back of the line u go.

While they may not make Pac or Mayweather money, the top UFC fighters do make millions from endorsements, etc.. Chuck Liddel just retired and is now a VP at UFC.

I'm sorry, but its hard for me to feel sorry for boxers who make in excess of $30 - $40 million throughout their career and end up broke because of stupid money management. Nobody told them to go out and buy 25 cars, 6 houses, etc....

Non televised fighters deserve more. Televised fighters get more than enough, not saying they should get less but they can't complain about it. If people also take a look at wrestlers as well they don't get overpaid, it's very similar to boxing in that most of them get nothing. At least most televised guys do in boxing, most televised guys in wrestling get barely enough to live on and they put their bodies on the line. A lot of injuries in that game.

you dont have too many MMA fighters publicly crying about how much they get paid or how bad their careers are.

"In December 2010 White donated $50,000 for a life-saving surgery for the 7-month-old daughter of a popular Thai MMA trainer at Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket, Thailand"

Dont know if he's robbing the fighters or not, but if that money goes to poor or ill people then respect for that :good

Your thoughts are stupid, the fights are very professional there. Not in the boxing way but in the street fight way. And your wrong there again, top fighters like Micro Crop Cop doesn't get even close to what Tyson of Lewis used to get. So, who's ******ed here?

look at the crowd is huge :). Yes ur rite fans DO want to see a rumble like that! I would rather pay 50 pounds for an average UFC fight than 10 pounds, watching david haye or fraudley running around the ring

Golf is not a sport in any way shape or form. There is no way to physically impose your will on your opponent or determine the result of your opponent in any way. It's a nice game, like darts or bowling, but is not a sport. But, the sponsors love it and middle aged fatso watch it, so they get paid what they are worth.
