If people go back and watch Paulie vs. Ricky, they'd see Ricky is launching in with his hands down much like he did later on vs. Floyd.

I mean hell, Freddie probably saw it and licked his chops.

my thoughts is that little timmy wasn't watching boxing then, as i remember all floyd fans were raving about how floyd sr just reinvented and rejuvinated hatton with new boxing skills, after the 'naggi fight, he was supposed to shoulder roll pac to a ud :rofl

Yeah... I guess you missed the sarcasm in my post.

Amazes me sometimes how many people make it seem like Team Pac are running a huge con by making fights that seem competitive but are actually not competitive because Team Pac know something about the opponent that no one else knows and thus "fooling" the fans into thinking Pac is better than he actually is.

I mean, isn't it possible that Team Pac was confident because despite being Hatton being a really good fighter (again, lineal 140 champ and undefeated at the weight), they know they had a better fighter?

It's as if some people are thinking all Pac is doing is exposing a bunch of hypejobs instead of thinking Pac is actually beating a bunch of really good fighters.

nope, didn't say that at all

he knows his guys, and knows how to match them....that doesn't say he isn't good at improving fighters....actually, it should be taken as a compliment...

    No, definitely not.

Margarito v Pacquiao for the vacant light middleweight belt is somewhat of a cherry-pick.

But fighting the #1 ranked guy in the division (unbeaten at the weight)...no, not even close.

Not what Im saying at all !

Dude Im a massive pacfan , he's been my favourite since he dethroned my other hero Barrera

by saying that manny and freddie new stylewise they could beat him and knew for the Lazcano fight that his punch resistrance was eroding just means they do their homework.

Hatton was still the man at JWW so its not a cherrypick , but guys as well prepared as manny and freddie also new he was a very winnable fight.

Think you've been fighting *****s too long , youre seeing enemys where there arent any !

Defo not. Hatton was a world class fighter.

Fact is Manny didnt beat Ricky Hatton. He beat an overtrained version

if "knowing how to match them" means going after the top guys in a weight division, then sure, I agree.

Seriously, if you think they are just matching Pac up well, who do you think Pac should have fought instead after the Oscar fight that wouldn't make it a simple product of "good matchmaking". Bradley? Juan Diaz? Casamayor? Because given the general sentiment now about those fights, Pac would have been beaten them easy... easy enough probably to make people say those fights were just a result of good matchmaking. (Bradley, too many defensive holes, no pop, same for Diaz, Casamayor would be old and past prime etc)

Honestly the only fights that didn't get made that disappointed me were the proposed Guzman fight at 130 and a 3rd fight with Marquez (obviously the Floyd fight but that's a different story)
