Chavez Jr is tired of fighting tough opponents who carry very little name value

    An article at the Scene.

He mentions championship fights with Zbik, Sylvester... Cotto, Margarito. Not quite in the same class.

"I want my promoter to take a big risk on me"

Send him to Montreal to fight Lemieux in May while Zbik defends against some bum Universum will have paid to get approved. Big enough risk?

Have Lemieux make his US debut against Erislandy Lara, fair enough?

Your money is on Lemieux whoever he fights, but Lara would outclass him.:smoke

And no, Lara wouldn't outclass him WTF are you talking about..?!?? Lara recently outclassed Raines, is a very promising prospect. But Lemieux was fighting Raines like opposition over a year ago, and will be fighting in the big leagues starting in April. Lara wouldn't be as fast a counterpuncher at 160 than he is at 154 IMO. Lemieux is the aggressor, possibly gets outlanded by Lara even though David is pretty accurate himself, and Lara goes down in the mid rounds by accumulation of power punches.

Refute all this **** now instead of posting :smoke 's.

Grady Brewer and Danny Perez are both better than Raines.

    ...

That's all you got? Ayala was ranked higher at 160 than these two were when Lara fought them. I'm saying Raines is ****in 6 fights back for Lemieux.

Rubio trolls all of Lara's opponents combined resume wise. And Lemieux is sparking him on April 8th.

So much for a refutation here.

He's ready for Zbik, but no way is he ready for a guy like Margo. Even a bigger Canelo (at 154) destroys him at the weight. He's got sub-par power, and sub-par speed. Good luck Junior.

My point is, you incoherent *****.. that nobody wants to fight Erislandy Lara. Thus he's fighting Raines to stay busy, whereas he fought better opposition a year back.

Lara outclasses Lemieux in every aspect of the game, it'd show immediately if they fought.

Settle down, kids. Lemieux-Lara is a pick'em. A potential strength vs. skill tortoise and hare classic.

Either one of them mops the floor with Chavez. :yep

They're both big risks to him (in fact, massive favorites to stop him IMO) but neither has much name value atm. So really they're worst case scenario by both his criteria and his promoter's...so it won't happen.

Exactly, he's picking the kind of stay busy fights Lemieux was having 14 months ago. After Lemieux gets in the championship picture by beating Rubio, he will be fighting top 10 / top 15 opposition as stay busy fights. The guy will headline major GYM cards @ Bell Centre.

Lara doesn't outclass Lemieux at 160. Sober up.

Nobody wants to fight Lemieux either.

You clearly don't get the point, but whatever.. keep dreaming in your lalaland, as soon as Lemieux fights a legitimate threat we'll know.
