Chavez Jr is tired of fighting tough opponents who carry very little name value

    Good come back, champ.

    1. You didn't prove I would have Lemieux winner against anyone.

    2. You didn't prove Lara's resume was superior to Lemieux's.

    3. You couldn't argue with the fact Lara would lose some of his insane counterpunching speed at MW.

    4. Lemieux ain't going down to 154, this fight would happen in a couple of years if it ever does. None of these two great prospects OUTCLASSES each other.

Like I said, you don't have a ****in point.

I never tried to prove either of your numbered points, but what I really was trying to get across to you was the fact that Erislandy Lara was fighting boxers well ahead of Raines a good year ago, and the only reason he's fighting Raines at this stage is to stay busy because there quite obviously aren't any others willing to step up to the plate and offer him a chance for reasonable money.

Lara is ****ed at 154lbs, his chance will inevitably come at some point, but unless the promotors put down some real money, he's gonna get ducked and dodged.

44 extremely tough opponents, he better retire there's nothing left to prove.

Kid's a lot hungrier than people give him credit for. Let him take on an andy lee or something, would be good for him.

Fair enough. I give the nod to this post, but how does that justify you blindly calling for a Lara washout against Lemieux?

Some many variables in play, it's ridiculous. My original point was that Lemieux-Chavez Jr COULD happen, it's not impossible within the next year if Universum secures Zbik's belt by having him fight bums. There would be a lot of pressure on Bon to have the two of them meet if Zbik isn't available for a title shot. Neither of the two can stagnate in terms of opposition at this point, when they're promised something big at the WBC.

The way you outlined the suggestion of a Lara-Chavez Jr. fight was to downplay the chance Chavez has of winning that fight. On the same note I genuinely believe Lara would **** on Lemieux, too much skill, a superior technician with reasonable pop and amazing counterpunching ability.

I never suggested Lara-Chavez Jr, WTF is this?!???

If you believe Lara would **** on Lemieux at MW, you're hopeless. Lemieux-Chavez Jr and Lemieux-Lara are two different animals.

"Too much skill".... at you believing David would be overwhelmed in a fight with Lara at 160, holy jesus motherfvckin christ.

    Sorry IB. :D

Sorry, was a bit too fast typing, you suggested Chavez Jr - Lemieux.

David wouldn't literally be overwhelmed, he'd be outclassed, outmaneuvered and simply outboxed.

Lara is too smart to get into a gun fight with someone who is only suited for that type of fight.

I had my reasons. You suggested Lara-Lemieux, which isn't plausible at all on the short to mid term.

Honestly, if he really wants his wish fulfilled he should defect to GBP. :yep

They are much more likely to cash someone right the **** out for short-term gain by putting them in with someone way too dangerous stylistically (most assuredly another of their own in-house talents) than is Arum, who likes to milk 'em nice and slow.
