He has the reach, punch, chin and conditioning ... sure Floyd is like 9/1 favorite in outboxing Margarito but he has like 0% chances to stop him and around 30% chances to look impressive. Margarito would be a tougher challenge than shot DLH or Hatton, with a serious risk for Floyd of being caught and stopped .... so bottom line, while Floyd is serious favorite the danger in facing Margarito and loosing invincibility to such not very great fighter was to big.

As Cotto ... until he lost to Margarito he was like an enigma, to much risk per $.

No he wouldn't be. Margo would be easy work it would be Baldo all over again possibly worse because he's more active, flawed and stubborn. PBF would make Margo look silly getting beat to the punch swinging and missing and getting countered to hell and back clean over and over. This has shut out clinic written all over it and it's easy to see. Margo can't deal with speed and movement. PBF didn't fight margo because he had a chance to fight the linear champ in Baldo for more money bottom line. Margo does nothing that bothers PBF and I mean nothing and is nothing more than a tool used by Arum and PBF haters as a weak attempt to try and discredit him.:deal

Not having the defence to stop Floyd hitting you all night + Not having the skill or speed to land very much at all = A shutout

 

Right now we can see that, after Margo got beaten by Mosley and
Mosley got beaten by Floyd like 2 years later ... but if you just get
back to the time when FLoyd fought Balomir then it wasn't so obvious.
If you substitute Blado with Margo at that time we would have a real
fight in the ring. I doubt Floyd would put a clinic on Margo like he did
on Gatti, he would have more troubles with Margo's pressure and
punching power than with Baldomirs. I'm not saying he shouldn't
fight Baldo, he should but then he should take a risk and destroy Margo.

So again I'm pretty sure Floyd would won with a large margin, I'm just
saying that at that time risk of facing Margo was too big, while then
it was the real and only legitimate challenge .... Floyd didn't took it
to prove he is really the best WW.

This is working against FLoyd now, because the other guys took a risk
to face eachother: Cotto beat Mosley, Margo Beat Cotto, Mosley beat
Margo, PAC beat Cotto ... PAC is considered a champion now, Floyd ain't
because he was facing wrong/irrelevant opposition.

Floyd just lost by talking an easier route, more money - smaller challenge
... and he pays for that now with his legacy ... or lack of it.

 

People make too much of pressure when talks of "how to beat Floyd" come up.. Too me, it has to be educated pressure, the kind that comes from a sound boxing pedigree, not necessarily relentless mauling(Hatton).

An educated boxer who sets his combinations up is the toughest match up for Floyd IMO. He relies too much on counter-punching. A combination of good defense and a balanced offense which is set up(rather then just throwing whatever's clever) takes care of that.

People can say what they want, but I honestly feel Spinks could have given Floyd a very tough fight at welter. I can see Spinks combination of a long jab, slick movement, and combination punching making it pretty difficult for Floyd to come out of the shell he always put himself in when under attack

 

Margo has **** for skills.. Even then though, if Floyd can't hurt Margo I could see it being a tough fight for him just because of the style match up. Floyd would have to fight a very active fight to keep Margo off of him and atleast some of his respect.

 

A Euro-level talent. Selcuk Aydin or the 31-0 Viacheslav Senchenko to be precise.
