After reading the Wlad - Lewis thread, and someone mentioning Lewis' last 5 fights, one of which was against Tyson. It had me thinking who would win between these two and why. Certainly Tyson had the style to ready disturb Wlad, but for how long? Was Tyson too shot to do this for 4-5 rounds, or did Lewis do enough to discourage him from continuing to try and get in on the inside? Would Tyson hurt Wlad and go for the kill, or would he tire himself out trying and if so..would Wlad punish him enough to win? Either way, even a shot Tyson would give Wlad more of a fight than most of his current opponents who seem scared to mix it up with him. I actually like Wlad, but I honestly see this as a kind of reply of Wlad against Sanders, but than said, I do know that Wlad has improved a lot since then. Thoughts?
Wlad by DQ. If Tyson has his dinner first i imagine he would be around long enough to catch Wlad , then Wlad opens up and its night night Wladdy.
Because of Wlads inability to throw an uppercut, something Lewis used to great effect against Mike. I would have to give Tyson a realistic chance of clapping him at some point.
If Wlad doesn't fall apart or get caught early he stops that version of Tyson. Seriously that is one of the most overrated wins ever, Tyson was shot.
Tyson was shot-to-****, sluggish, overweight & had extremely poor stamina in 2002. Hell, he was an utterly shot corpse, flabbly, lethargic & had no stamina in his previous fight against Nielsen a year earlier, so Lewis-Tyson shouldn't have been billed as a "Superfight" in 2002. However, he has a dangerous punchers-chance in round one, before gassing.
Yes, dont blink for 2 rounds and then if a lucky bomb doesnt land watch tyson get broken down, abused and stopped. Not much chance in this fantasy match up. Tyson had a very short prime.
When Tyson looked good, Lewis never mentioned his name but after the Nielson fight he really wanted a piece of him. :verysad
80' beats Wlad in 1 round, he was too fast and too aggressive. 90' and 00' Tyson is being a shot imo. Wlad would whoop him the way he fights now.
Don't know if he's stop him or not, Tyson's got a pretty good chin, but I agree he'd win, But are the "If's" you mentioned, big "if's" or small "if's" ? The other question is even if it gets past the dangerous first couple of rounds, could Tyson get Wlad to panic later in the fight, if he goes back into aggressive mode, even if it's only sporatically? There's a good chance if Tyson senses either fear or that he's hurt Wlad he's go ape**** trying to finish him off.
Depends on if Tyson psyches him out during the build up to the fight. If he does, and Tyson is in 'the zone' I think he catches him quickly. I'm not sold on Wladimir's mental strength. Haye seems to give him sleepless nights. Tyson would make him **** his pants.
Get your facts straight dude. They were scheduled to fight before 97 but Lewis took step aside money in order for Holy-Tyson fight would happen.
