12 people voted cherry pick? ****ing jokers. Hatton was the unquestioned and long time lineal 140 champion, who'd never lost a fight at 140 and looked impressive in his previous fight, not only crushing Malignaggi, but outboxing him too.

Making the fight LOOK like a cherry pick doesn't mean it was one.

God no! I thought hatton was gonna smash pacman in 2 rounds. I was gobsmacked watching the fight. Even after round 1 I expected ricky to still win.

Up until clottey pac pretty much fought the best out there (bar diaz who was clearly the worst titlist) it is only since clottey he has begun to cherry pick.

their logic must be, why would you fight someone you can ko in 2 rounds?

Great Post. How can you cherry Pick the best fighter at 140. How. Makes no sense.

Plus Hatton really wanted that fight with Pac.

Ricky cant help he had very poor style against Southpaws.

Ricky was considered the Man at 140 even after the Mayweather loss at 147 and I can't remember anyone except harcore Pac fans giving Manny any chance (honourable mention to Pacdbest). Regardless of whether anyone could see that Hatton was not the same fighter after the fact, Pac could not have known that before he made the fight. Hatton had just steam-rollered Malignaggi who was highly thought of at the time, even for a feather-fister.

It was good match-making but no way was it a cherry-pick. A fired-up and on-form Hatton would have given Manny a tough night and it was still a big risk for Team Pac to take.

Who was Hatton at the time Pac fought him? The guy Mayweather knocked out.

Who is Mosley now? The guy Mayweather dominated.

    This is what Pac does.

And Cotto was the guy that Mayweather avoided.

How does Hatton become "the best fighter at 140" post the Mayweather debacle? Lazcano? Malignaggi? :huh

Lazcano victim of Vivian Harris, lumped him up. Hatton was past it.
