Max, perhaps you should clarify as the OP.

Did you intend this to be "exciting fights" in the sense of "interesting style match-ups that involve big names and generate buzz" or in the sense of "entertaining, violent, two-way, action-packed adrenaline rides"?

They're two very different criteria, and it doesn't seem as though there's been a uniform criteria in use here.

Generally when one talks about "exciting fights" they mean the latter.

everyone is saying pac-pbf...like pbf is gonna trade with him....pbf is just gonna ride his bike and potshot for the win...imagine pbf fighting like cotto in the later rounds...pac frustrated chasing cotto but this time its pbf with a right hand lead on pacs face everytime he gets close....

Frenkel-Afolabi would be a nice toe to toe war (not entirely dissimilar from Huck-Afolabi), with Frenkel's power and relaxed smoothness ultimately making the difference.

Cleverly-Erdei would be interesting, but I don't envision it as particularly thrilling. Zsolt likes to move, and Nate's still got a bit of a mugging habit.

    Easily the number 1 fight:

    1. Lucas Matthysse-Marcos Maidana
    2. James Kirkland-Alfredo Angulo
    3. Juan Manuel Lopez-Yuriorkis Gamboa
    4. Giovanni Segura-Roman Gonzalez
    5. Tavoris Cloud-Beibut Shumenov

That is a solid list - by any criteria.

Cloud-Shumenov nearly made mine, and was only left off mostly just because of Tavoris' tendency to take time off during rounds (and with the awful Zuniga performance still fresh in my mind).

I agree. Cloud's minute-minute and half long breaks in between some rounds here and there is a bit of a turn off. I almost went with Marcos Maidana and Juan Urango in the 5 hole instead, but I think Urango has lost luster and it isn't as significent of a fight as the other 5 fights.

Action packed, explosive, entertaining. The entertainment value of the actual fight taken into consideration only, not the amount of buzz.

Yeah, I see Frenkel-Afolabi similar, would be good match-making.

Erdei likes too move but he has stamina issues, always had, and when he can´t move that much anymore he can get drawn into a skilled brawl, I think the late rounds would be very interesting. Don´t know who to pick, I like Cleverly but I don´t know if he is ready for a skilled and experienced operator like Erdei yet.

What the ****? 126 vs. 118? I know they're both relatively new to their weight, but... that just makes no sense.

You don't think Mayweather vs. Martinez would be exciting?

I'd be jumping up and down waiting for Floyd to get melted onto the canvas. :happy
