alot of ppl are going to look stupid on here if it's true that Ariza tried to pull one on Khan by getting him to sign a contract

Khan says he had issues during camp with Ariza and didn't have a contract with him but only with Roach (this is complete BS as he was singing his praises before + after the fight):

Freddie Roach confirms Ariza only has contracts directly with the fighters he trains:

The Telegraph ran a story reporting Khan's family were concerned Ariza was becoming too much of an influence on him:

    Put the dots together :thumbsup

So how did Team Khan pay Ariza in the past for his services? They have been with him for quite a few fights!

Who knows, but what is clear is that what Khan has said is in direct contradiction to both Roach and Ariza.

    Why would Freddie lie?

The fact is, Ariza is owed money and the Khan's are refusing the pay him. Ariza trains Pac - P4P best fighter in the world, Chavez - yet it's only Team Khan who appear to have an issue with him.

And this is all within the space of 2 weeks when Peterson, McCloskey, Maidana all complained of how penny pinching and tight Team Khan is.

I hope Ariza sues. Can't see how it will be anything but awkward for Amir at the wildcard with Ariza training Manny and other fighters but not him. And for him to look Ariza in the face knowing his Father ripped the poor guy off, expecting Freddie to pay for Ariza's bill.

It is not proven as a fact
Unlike yourself I will keep an open mind
We will wait and see and I hope Team Khan sues Ariza if claims of stealing contracts are false!

It wont be long before Asif Vali lets it known that Roach is taking too much of a cut. Vali will start taking pads with Khans dad as strength and conditioning coach. They will probably go solo on the promotion front called 'Badman Promotions' or some such title whereby they will have Sky PPV fights against a variety of members of the general public who will be expected to fight for £1.50 and a stale sausage roll.

Wouldn't they have some kind of contract signed up for fees arrangements, can't just go by word.

Despite what I originally thought, there is more to it than simply "Khan's team not wanting to pay Alex".

What else do you think it is Rico? I haven't really been following all the ins and outs of it.

Ed, someone from Khan's side popped into ESB yesterday and revealed their side of the story. It's got something to do with Roach changing his plans in regards to how Ariza gets paid. Orginally, he (Roach) would be in charge of Ariza's wages. But prior to the Maidana bout, Roach informed Ariza that he would now have to sort his own contracts with the fighters.

This is where the problem arised.

Apparently the manner in which Ariza went about in trying to get a contract with Khan, was inappropriate. Instead of going to his management team, he went to Khan directly during the end of the Maidana lead-up (on the night of weigh in), trying to get his signature. Khan's old man didn't like Ariza going behind their back, and hassling Khan with contracts right before the biggest night of his career. They claim that paying Ariza directly is not a problem, because they'd been paying him for all the other bouts. They just had a problem with him hassling Khan with stuff he doesn't understand, nor is it his job to. It's Khan's management that deals with that kind of stuff, and Ariza should have known better than to not go by them.
