apparently a film is due to be made about gatti's life and the makers own the rights of the trilogy. it's also highly likely that they wanted to end on a winning note - would be difficult to include the first gatti fight and leave out the other two or alternatively have all 3 with him loosing the last 2..

it's a good film if you dont no anything about Micky wards career. if i wasn't as keen boxing fan i would of enjoyed it more but theirs no mention of his loss to vince phillips before he got a second shot and how they can make a film about mickey ward and end it before he has the 3 biggest fights of his life with gatti i just dont get. but Christian bale is good in it.

I agree that ending the film with a 'world title' win rather than 2 decision loses makes sense. Im not sure a film maker can own the rights to an event in history like a particular fight...

Ok Neary was not an great champ. He was a very decent fighter though.I guess the story is about getting your chance and taking it.

Its def, worth a watch. I can't see how they could put the Gatti fights in and still have it work as a film that would appeal to non-boxing fans TBH.

IMO they didnt even bend the truth re a title , they said title fight they said it was for the WBU championship

    Thsi is true !!

If they did put the Gatti fights in then all the boxing nerds would feel the need to inform of Gattis death etc etc

Rocky will forever be the king of boxing films.

I just don't think Boxing comes across very well on the big screens these days, its no longer culture.

Here's a question who do you think should have or would be a good choice to play Gatti in a movie?

Benicio Del Toro or John Leguizamo would be my choices
