He's a perfect example of how boxing skills dont always win fights! He has terrible defense, no footwork, no finesse, yet he still troubles and beats world class boxers with just his power and determination. It also helps that he has a hell of a chin!

Kind of reminds me of how Mayorga beat Vernon Forrest 2x.

Well, Kotelnik and Khan barely, and I mean just barely survived Maidana, Cayo and Ortiz were brutally stopped and Corley of difficult style said Maidana is the hardest puncher he's ever faced (despite finishing on his feet). Add how well he found Khan on the inside and how NO ONE ever step on the inside vs. him knowing what to expect, it'd be a very tough fight for Bradley who's a close range fighter. Sure I can see Timbo using handspeed, athleticism and high level ring IQ to beat Maidana to the punch, Bradley by UD would be my pick. But then again. You're on the inside. With Marcos Maidana. Worst place to be.

So why do you think Bradley is a lock to beat Chino?

Not hard considering even his closest 140 rivals aren't counter-punchers. Like I said, he's a well rounded fighter. He'd have his ass handed to him by the Mayweathers and Pacquiaos, and he'd lose to the prime Cottos and Mosleys.

Exactly, why aren't people getting this one simple fact?

Bradley would have to be on the ball every second of every round, especially with his style. I think he could do it, but Maidana is a very live underdog.

Maidana is a KO artist who's all action and lacks defense people have a tendency to always overrate those types.

From an entertainment standpoint, Maidana gives you your money's worth. He might not be a very skilled boxer, but you can count on him going in and trying to take his opponents head off. I'd much rather watch him than sit and watch a fighter who's gonna dance around for 12rounds while playing pity pat with his opponent.

I agree with all of the above!!!

Maidana is a power house and Khan just survived!!!!!!!!!!

I still pick Khan to beat Bradley and i would not rule out Maidana against Bradley either! And Maidana would ko Alexander

I agree. Now dont get me wrong, I enjoy a good tactical boxing match between 2 fighters who are actually attempting to hurt or take thier opponents out! What I cant stand is watching 2 technical fighters who's idea of a good boxing match is to avoid engaging while flicking jabs and throwing out pity pat shots while dancing around for 12rounds.

I think he is underrated! Maybe we can see him and Bradley slug it out as that would be a very good match.

Thinking about it, yes, I'd say him being underrated is more the case. In the two fights he lost, he lost by close margins against two very good guys. He's more crafty than people give him credit for, and I guess we'll only find out how good he truly is if he has his chance(s) against the likes of Alexander, Bradley etc.

Why do people get the perception that Maidana can just KO Bradley if he lands a flush right hand? Maidana has pop but he does not have one punch KO power. That's clearly evident and Bradley faced a very hard 140 lb hitter in Holt. He even got severaly KDed in the very 1st round. The type of KD that might've finished other guys off. And late in the fight, he got rocked again as he was pushing the action. But he kept on coming. The thing about Bradley is that of all the guys he has faced, he has always been the agressor and kept on coming, whether that's against the bigger Holt, bigger Peterson, hard hitting Alexander, bigger Abregu, etc. You have to kill the guy to beat him.

His stock has soared since his fight with Khan.

Maybe it was because it was an exciting fight.

Maybe it's Khan fans gaining respect for him after he took Khan to the brink.

It's strange because most of them were saying that before the fight, if Maidana couldn't knock him out, that Khan would dance around him because he was a clumsy slugger.

But he's definitely got elevated a lot after losing, while Bradley seems to have sunk even though he beat another champion.

Anything can happen in boxing, but IMO Bradley would beat Maidana, and with less drama than the Khan fight.
