Greatest Chess Matches

    So I was wondering what classic fights involved both boxers being totally aware of the others weapons, and therefore not much action ensued. Not just a boring fight with constant holding, but where the fighters are basically circling each other waiting for an opening that hardly ever appears.

    maybe I should've changed the title of the thread to "Hurry up and hit him already!"

    There is action in chess matches, I was wondering about fights where each fighter neutralized each others attack plans for most of the fight.

    That's a great call. 2 very skilled fighters with excellent reflexes. So many punches missed by centimeters.

    Vic, why do feel that BHop vs. Tito was a great chess match? It seemed pretty one sided to me.

    If you're into fights where absolutely nothing happens then Carlos "Sugar" De Leon vs Johnny "The Entertainer" Nelson is the one for you!

    Nelson should've just taken his Herol Graham impersonation a step further and shoulder-tossed De Leon a few times if he wasn't planning on throwing any punches.

    Yes, one sided fight, but close in the early rounds to me.....But I picked that because Bernard´s ring intelligence, impressive demonstration of his ability to play "chess".......in my opinion....
