Roger Mayweather sounds off on freedom, Floyd's motives, Pacquiao-Mosley, more.......

While the future of Floyd Mayweather Jr.is as uncertain as ever, good news came recently to his Uncle and trainer Roger, who recently was able to work out a deal in relation to an August 2009 domestic violence case against him that sees him serving no time in prison at all, instead getting a year of probation and some community service hours as well as a $1,000 fine. Despite never showing any signs of worry in the past months, Roger is now in the clear and slightly relieved to have the incident behind him.

During a recent visit to Floyd Mayweather's personal boxing gym in Las Vegas I was able to talk to Roger about the whole ordeal but he obviously had much more on his mind as he picked apart various storylines taking place in the sport of boxing. From his nephew's motivations to return, his thoughts on Manny Pacquiao's May 7th date with Shane Mosley, how the sport of boxing has changed, and much more, Roger was typically unrelenting with his thoughts.

His fighter Jesse Vargas' next assignment, February 24th against Lanard Lane...
"Jesse is a well-schooled fighter. Being so young, he's fought a lot of guys with experience. That's how I came along in boxing. I fought guys with way more experience than me. It wasn't no big thing to adapt or box because I was already used to fighting these guys. I used to fight my brothers every day and my brother was already number three in the world before. By the time I had ten fights I had already beat five guys in the top ten."

Boxing today...
"Half of the guys in boxing today I don't even follow them. They aint worth following to me. Me, I like guys with skills. I don't like it when people say 'That guy over there he beat this guy over here'. Somebody like Ricky Hatton, who couldn't' fight a lick himself. Some people follow certain fighters because that's what they like. I like guys who can box. I've known Devon Alexander since he was a little kid. Shane Mosley is a good fighter. Andre Berto is a decent fight. Andre Ward is a good fighter. That's about it, as far as I'm concerned. I don't follow Pacquiao. He aint nothing but wild anyways."

Curiosity towards Pacquiao-Mosley...
"I heard they told Mosley 'You're going to have to take a test'. Let me as you something. If Mosley got to take a test, don't they both have to take a test? They both have to take a test. But here he is fighting a mother****er and he won't take the test himself. That's why him and my nephew never fought, because he didn't want to take the test himself. He said he would take a test five days out. Who in the hell would do that? Aint no such thing as taking a test five days out for a five. You can take the test the day before the fight, that's it. The rest of that stuff don't mean nothing."

Mosley's chances...
"[Shane has] got power to beat him to. The only way he aint going to beat him is why most mother****ers don't beat him. He's got that **** in him, that's why. How does a guy who's been knocked out twice at 105 pounds beat a guy at 160 pounds? And he's beating guys at 147 pounds? Please."

Floyd surviving a rocky second round against Shane...
"I just told him. Box him. I know my nephew has a good chin. My nephew's never been knocked out before. I told him, box him. Use your boxing skills and make the fight easy. You see after he used his boxing skills, how many rounds did Shane win? None. That's the whole key of boxing. Use your gifts. God gave you a gift to use something and you have to work on what God gave you. Your gift is your boxing ability, your thinking ability. And that's when he started to box. When he started to box it wasn't even close."

Getting his case behind him...
"I had some case, some bull**** about some woman. A woman who hit me in the head with a lamp in my condiment. I got a case. I got to go to trial. For what? She should be going to trial. She hit me. I didn't hit her. I feel good to get it behind me. To be honest it was all bull**** anyways. How are you going to charge me when somebody hits me with something I own? I don't understand that."

Floyd's passions to fight...
"He got passion to get that money don't he? Then he got a passion to fight. Money is the motivation to all things. Not just one thing, money is the motivation to all things. Why do you think Evil Kenevil jumped on that motorcycle and jumped over that fire? Why? Because he was getting paid a bunch of mother ****ing money. For a guy to do that? What's the motivation? Money is the key to all things. That's it."

The public wanting to see Floyd lose...
"It's like this. If he whoops Pacquiao he would have to whoop somebody else. No matter who you beat and how you beat them, there is always another guy. You aint got to do nothing but the bottom line, that's what boxing is about. They want to see him lose but they sure aint going to see him lose to Pacquiao. They want to see him lose to a whole bunch of fighters. They want to see him lose to Shane Mosley. They want to see him lose De La Hoya. They want to see him lose to Marquez."

How much Miguel Cotto has left...
"I don't know how good he is now. Since he got that ass whooping from Pacquiao. I don't know how good he is. Pacquiao took a lot out of him. And Margarito had those illegal ass hand wraps. They are like casts. But let me come back though, aint no saying he couldn't come back."

The future of boxing...
"It don't look good to me. I don't hardly ever watch fights no more, period. First off, I don't know half the mother****ers that are fighting. I don't know half them dudes. The guys you are talking about, I don't know. In my days of boxing, I know what fighters can do. These days I don't know half of them. I know a few guys. Shane Mosley. Cotto. As far as mainstream fighters."

The changes he would make with Pacquiao if he was training him...
"The change I would make, you don't want to know. Take that **** out of his body and do it like a fighter is supposed to do. I know he got something in him. He knows it too. I know there is proof. Because you know why? Any time a guy is getting 50 million dollars, and he don't want to take a test a couple days before the fight and then after the fight he has to take another test. Why he don't want to take a test? I aint got to tell you what's wrong. Anybody can see what's wrong with that. The way boxing works, you take a test a day before the fight and a day after the fight and that's it."

Lil' Floyd biding his time...
"He doesn't really hang out with his family. What keeps him busy is he still likes boxing, he still likes fighting. He's just probably waiting to see if the right fight comes. Obviously he might fight Pacquiao but he needs to have a tune up fight along the way. He's not active enough to actually be considered. If he's active enough, he won't have a problem in the world."
