if Sky PPV this its another Haye harrison in the waiting. Witter will either come to survive and it will be a 12 round stinker or else Khan blows him out in 2/3 with Witter looking terrible.



I think Khans team have to realise he isnt the big PPV star they think. He needs another name ie Katsidis or someone who will add to the pot (McCloskey from irish PPV sales).

That 30,000 you quoted IS NOT TRUE, the more people keep saying it, the more other morons read it and they to begin putting it out as fact. It was made up by Boente to cause an argument with David Haye.

If Khan Kotelnik had done 30,000 buys, Khan Salita would not have been PPV.

A **** PPV does around 70K-75K.

No, all references of the 30K stem from people re-quoting each other all off the Boente comment. As I said, 30K would have resulted in no Khan Salita.

Sky don't release the actual figures, however obviously the numbers are usually well known within 8 weeks of a fight due to advertising.

75K isn't great, but it's in the 'survivable' zone to speak, if you were to get another you'd have to have a decent undercard, do a lot of begging and what not. A decent UK PPV, that's considered acceptable is around 125K-150K

Frank Warren and Sky had an agreement... but that doesn't really mean anything. Sky can do whatever they please , someone provides an event and it doesn't match expectations, very poor PPV buys, they can just say "Ok.. Goodbye". Do you really think they'd sign a deal which says "10 PPV fights for Frank Warren. No matter what the results of the previous events. "... not a chance.

They don't need to, it was Warren wanting it as PPV, because PPV was the only way of providing the revenue necessary for what Asif Vali and Shah Khan were demanding. Sky supply what terms they feel comfortable with.

All these stupid myths and claims that go around are easily realised to be nonsense if you think through the consequences of them.

While I'm at it in rant mode... Makes me laugh when Khan made comments around the time of the Malignaggi fight stating how it's "a shame boxing isn't on terrestrial", when the very reason he moved off ITV was because there was no way of paying him the sums demanded using it.

 

Khan has never done over 100,000 PPV sales. Don't expect this to do the same.

well HBO sign fighters to multi fight deals (hamed got a 6 fight one i believe) as do Showtime, most recently with Bute - if they do it why wouldnt sky?


Khan v ***an was PPV (albeit with pac de la hoya) after he got clobbered by Prescott - so why would sky ppv that?


Anyway swings and roundabouts - howz about having some actual good fights to talk about (for the 1st time in what seems like years!)
