arizas a conditioning coach not a miracle worker, his methods are nothing new, only difference between ariza and any other good conditioning coach is that ariza gets some press and he uses that to his advantage.

No no no. People need to stop crying over this man. Get the **** over it. He's a Conditioning Coach, not a freakin' Miracle worker as Relentless has said.

Finding another decent conditioning coach will not be a problem. But will this new guy know Amir and his requirements like Ariza did? They were together for 6 fights, and the transformation is there for everyone to see. Khan would certainly be better off keeping with a successfully trialed and tested coach, than going with a new one.

Not to mention that the next 12 months will be the most important of his career. Fighting a Timothy Bradley who you need exceptional conditioning against, and a plan to move up to an untested weight-class, means keeping Ariza would have been a good idea.

But, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

It has nothing to do with "they don't wanna give Ariza what Alex thinks his Services & Expertise is worth". There's more to the split up than what's been said. Paying Alex for his services was not a problem, but the way he apparently conducted himself, was.

I expect something similar to this to be highly possible.

He might not need Ariza specifically but he does need a conditioning coach. Khan's family/advisors probably found someone that will do the job for a fiver less and so got rid of Ariza.

    who's hopkins?

who's the conditioning coach employed at ronnie shields' boxing gym?

each one of them are as good as ariza but i bet none of you can name them.

5% lesser knowledgeable conditioning coach can lead to significantly smaller improvements or even to decreasing. Especially in individual sports.

Need, probably not. Should he have canned him, probably not. But only time and his future performances will tell.
