Mike was able to do that for the biggest and most anticipated heavyweight fight of recent times, which did 1.59 million PPV buys (a then record)

So much for the argument that Wlad Klitschko fighting Haye on July 2 after fighting on April 30 would be unprecedented and the fight cannot be promoted properly.

It would be exactly the same situation, (Tyson-Holy had also been cancelled before), except there was a hell of a lot more money at stake for Tyson-Holy

Haye should **** his mandatory off in March, or forget it completely and man up and take the fight everyone wants to see. It can still be done.

I think the problem is having to wait until May 1st to know if your going to fight or not.

    Tyson...known worldwide, people expecting excitement/KO's/controversy.

That's no doubt an unfair comparison really. Haye will never get that amount of spotlight Tyson had/has.

I think this is a major reason...

Haye no doubt wanted just two bouts this year (Wlad and Vitali...assuming he got past Wlad). He couldn't sign to fight Wlad because Wlad had entered a contract with Chisora, which scuppered his plans of going after Wlad next...he would have to fight his mandatory first. And basically I don't think he wanted to fight more than he had to.

If you look through Boxing History you will find World Champions that fought every 2 months or even sooner than that. Haye is full of ****. Haye likes to take huge layoffs between fights and I guess because he can't get ready in 8 weeks he thinks nobody else can either.

You can't compare that bout to Wlad vs Haye, but of course there's no problem at all with it beïng only a 2 month period inbetween...

It was nothing more than Haye's slight opening to a new excuse, and his fans and the British media buy it without thinking it trough.
When is Haye (if ever) going to step up?
Lewis fought a Klit, Hide fought a Klit, Williams fought a Klit, Chisora is fighting a Klit... It's Haye's turn on July 2.

cant compare tyson and haye, haye needs months of a buildup to this fight to convince some people he is legit and to buy the fight

I think the Tupac murder had a effect on Tysons career, he was never the same!

    really?
I think it was prison/that long break/ don king/ money / women trouble that lead to Tyson's demise i dont think tupac being alive wouldve changed the way tyson turned

No Heavyweight should need a certain amount of time between fights, all they need to do is stay in shape, they don't need to boil down in weight or anything.
