Well that's stupid because I have yet to see ANY mma fighter in a wrestling stance, plus it if you think you're gonna shoot for a takedown without getting punched in the face you got another thing coming.

He looked much more developed boxing wise in that footage of him sparring at the wild card, then he did in his last boxing match.

48 year old Ray Mercer KOed a young 33 yr old Tim Sylvia in 8 secs and Mercer was giving up about 7inches and who knows how much weight.

:lol:Yeah, that was hilarious. Sylvia is and has always been almost exclusively a striker, though, and a terrible one at that. He was just able to utilize his reach and power on the primitive striking wrestlers he'd face. Even Randy Couture (the 6'1 wrestler) thoroughly out-boxed and schooled him on the feet.

That's what you call a pure wrestling stance? :patsch

And against James Toney? That says ****

Try silva vs Mercer. Oh and on top of that both boxers are WAYYYYY past it.

We all know why Dana didnt even let Silva attempt to step in the ring with an old Roy Jones. But he will jump when an old fat boxer wants to try MMA. Any C level boxer with good foot movement could become an MMA champ.

Actually, getting off a clean punch while a guy is attempting to take you down is extremely difficult. Which is why strikers with poor ground skills are well advised to learn takedown defense in an MMA fight, not just hope they can land a knockout blow before they end up being taken down.
