    Alright Gents

Not sure if thread like this has been done before but when i was watching Booth's piece on Ringside it made me think about the Fighter film and other movies and what fighter's deserve a film.

So thought it might make for a interesting thread. Something where people can put bit of effort in and might be good bit of banter.

    Anyways way thread works

    Fighter and Why:

    Name of Film:

    Actors:

Plot (Fights to be used and maybe you could add what you like to it):

Film Poster (Picture of fighter etc)
    :

Could be hit or miss thread. You don't have to write a script but you may add fights you like to be in film and scenes from certain fights.

Like for me. Cotto's face against Margarito when he goes down on knee is something built for cinema. It's haunting yet epic at same time...strange but it really shows how draining and cruel sport can be.

    Anyways I'm Out :good

Interesting thread:good. The fighter i would most like to see in a film would be Joe Louis. One of the greatest heavyweights of all time and he had an incredible story. Almost single-handidly lifted the colour bar on the heavyweight championship and in sports in general. His life story would make a great movie. Fights that i would like to see in it would be would be both his ones with Schmeling, Conn, Braddock and his final fight with Marciano. Plus a montage of his kos in the bum of the month club:yep

jesus mandana you can't half think of em, i go gatti, his fights with ward, though i know f-ckall about it but his personal life was probably like his fights, so good footage that would make, imight call it thunder, and robert dinero would have been the man, if they could knock a ruck of years of him.

Bernard Hopkins has enough of a story in it, rough upbringing, the prison on to become a future HOF its a the sorta rags to riches thing that'd make Hollywood producers smile if it werent for the botox.

Sensitively a Michael Watson film if done very carefully could be an extraordinary film. His autobiography is fantastic and would be a great guideline for the script of a film that would show the mans incredible story to more people and how well the sport has learned from the ragic errors of the past.

Tired will return tomorrow with the extra details this good thread deserves rather than spurting ****. Should kick on nicely this 1

Cheers Boys! 3 great posts already.

SportofKings..Now you mention it i would love to see Louis film. I don't know enough about the great man. I wonder who would act as him??..

Portside i like the name ''Thunder'' would be catchy for his film which i hope and believe will happen one day.

Jdawg Watson would be incredible if done right. Tearjerker...but inspirational.

I'd really like a Danny Williams movie. There's not too many british actors with anything resembling his physique though.

And that Hopkins moment is absolutely beautiful. You can see in his eyes he's not focusing on a damn thing except who he's looking at and what he has to say with his eyes. Brilliant.

Gatti's would have the best ending - gets drunk, beats his wife in public, gets stoned by disgusted witnesses, then goes & hangs himself with her handbag.

Has that ever been properly explained?

Truly one of the most bizarre moments in boxing history.
