Except Murray is really noway near as good as Katsidis. Katsidis knows how the cut the ring off for a start whereas Murray plods around.
I agree. But everyone seems to think Peterson will do just that. I'm not on about Amir, I'm on about a lot of posters who seem to think Peterson is good preperation.
Ahh, well I suppose main reasons are like you mentioned, no other major opponent, such as Ortiz is going to come to the UK for the sorts of money they are wanting to pay for this event. For me its the most competitive possible match up from the mix of names who were possible opponents
Peterson moves round the ring pretty well, has good head movement, and can counterpunch a bit. It will be good to see how Khan copes against a less dangerous opponent, before being thrown in with Bradley who does all those things very well. At this stage, I think hes more useful than most other 140 fighters. As for Ortiz, itll be wise for Khan to take that fight in the US as oppose to the UK. Hes a much bigger name over there, and a win over him would enhance his standing amongst the US fight-fans. GBP and HBO stand to make more money too.
Where the heck is Laz - I thought they were going to announce this a few days ago? This is getting so tiresome - all this talk about a tune up fight, no-one cares about this one as the general concensus is that Khan will walk through his next opponent and onto a match-up with Bradley.
Even Bunce was saying this last night.. just shows how one comment can be misunderstood. It was not because of Amir Khan that David Haye could not be made on the 29th, it was the royal wedding!, the fact there was two PPV's wasn't ideal but it wasn't a made or break factor.
he is certainly better prep compared to the other suggested opponents..McCloskey could get Salita'd and Witter might have his head taken off like Graham Earl!
Junior Witter, when speaking to Buncey, seemed convinced that he will be fighting Khan next. He said everything has been agreed by both sides, and that the only thing missing are the signatures. I really hope that's him just being extremely optimistic.
He's a great opponent as he is easy meat! We all saw how good at pressing a fight Peterson is when he fought Bradley. Like you, I think Khan will learn nothing from this fight in preparation for Tim. I think the only boost Khan can get is for his confidence if he becomes the first guy to stop him.
I was hoping to come home to an announcement on who Khan's fighting.. Guess not. I think it's Peterson, but if Witter is taking an offer which is substancially less than Peterson is being given, they'll take the Witter fight. This will actually tell if Team Khan are working on building Khan as a fighter or just milking him for what he is.
