Pointless post... You weren't around boxing durnig most of those. I was. There's more to then just posting some timeline you think is relevent.
Personally I feel just from looking at his fights that he took the layoff to fully fill up as a welterweight. I expected him to now convince the world that he is the best welterweight, but unfortunately that hasn't really happened. Mosley being a decent win, but not fighting Pacquiao is going to be a huge minus on his resume.
The last time I looked, a fighter spends 3-4 months in the gym to train for an upcoming fight to get in the best shape possible. Floyd does the opposite! He gets battered, worn out in training. When a boxer steps into the ring he has the full benefits of 3-4 months training. The injuries you mention are incidental and part of the training process. Pac has more fights than Floyd and has suffered the ultimate loss in boxing. KO! Yet he has not taken a vacation, same with Cotto and some of others he should have, ought to have fought. Me thinks that he has better sparring partners than Pac, Cotto and Margarito combined. You're making ***** excuses for your ***** idol.
I posted the timeline so you see that Floyd couldn't just fight all the guys ppl were asking from him to fight after Hatton. All of them kept losing to other people or were planned to fight somebody else and it would have been impratical for Floyd to fight them. The most logical ones were Msoley after Margarito, Margo after the Cotto fight or Williams after the Quitana rematch
Man, i can tell you never boxed before. The injuries he's getting aren't necessarily from his sparring partners. have you ever heard of a turn rotator cuff? I've ****ed up both of mine multiple times when training and that's only after a few years. I never messed my hands up like Floyd, but he uses smaller gloves than I do when fighting. When you torque and twist your body enough, it is going to mess up your back. It's just like basketball, after so many years, your knees get messed up and the joints in your leg from constant running on wood
You came up with "FACTS"...but it doesn't stop the FACT that Mayweather was "retired"...so you trying to defend him is pointless. He was not available at that time to participate in any bouts against Cotto, Margarito, Mosley, etc, etc. If someone wants to enhance their legacy, and if someone wants a bout badly enough...they will at least attempt to negotiate it, whether it is negotiating with Arum or not. Those "FACTS" seem to fit nicely in place for you to try to defend him. But it doesn't change the fact that his earlier career shits all over his career from 140lbs and above. The bouts that mattered at Welterweight didn't happen for one reason or another.
Wrong. If Floyd expressed an interest in some of those other guys, the fights they were in may not have happened in the first place. Besides, it goes back to Floyd's 135 days. Not just the last couple years you started watching him fight.
You mean you can't negotiate and try to get Mayweather out of retirement? Money talks, bull**** walks. You know when Hagler vs Leonard was negotiated right? When SRL was 'retired.' Arum did not, and still does not want to pay Mayweather for beating fighters in Top Rank. It's a lose lose for Bob Arum. Anybody with some sense about business can see this and will understand why Bob Arum refuses to match Mayweather up with his top talent in Top Rank. You can also see how he promotes his fighters using Mayweather's name, knowing all too well that he has no plans of putting any of his fighters in the ring against him. You really are dense by the way: You keep bringing up Margarito and Cotto when BOB ARUM IS QUOTED AS SAYING HE IS THE ONE WHO STOPPED THOSE FIGHTS FROM HAPPENING BECAUSE HE (ARUM) DID NOT WANT TO PUT UP THE MONEY. Mosley also had a "tooth ache" remember, and "took a break from boxing" when Mayweather wanted to fight him. I don't see you calling Mosley a "ducker." You seriously just started watching boxing. That much is clear. Arum is the one with the stable of fighters, and the money to get these deals made. People putting it ALL on Mayweather are ignorant about business or are just fanboys. Straight up. Does Mayweather have some fault in this too? Absolutely, but acting like it is "only Mayweather" is ****ing ******ed. Especially consider, AGAIN: BOB ARUM IS THE ONE WITH THE FIGHTERS AND THE MONEY. Not Mayweather.
You have no real reason, other then just WANTING SO BADLY TO BELIEVE, that Arum is afraid to have a fighter of his lose to Mayweather. Like I said in another post, Arum has had his fighters lose before. Hasn't hurt them or him. He knows how to build stars.
Too many top names were at 135. Sure, he beat Castillo. Excellent win. But there was also Casamayor, Spadafora and Freitas hanging around....ALL there, but instead we got N'Dou and Sosa after.
A load of assumptions again. Why does Mayweather need to be approached to make a bout? If anything, you're are backing up my argument...if he really wanted those bouts, rather then "retirement"...those bouts would have at least been attempted to be negotiated. When was Arum quoted saying this, when Mayweather just left Top Rank was it not? Yes I clearly just started watching boxing...says the person defending someone who he doesn't know because he believes everything he is quoted saying, and you call me dense...laughable.
He has had them lose to other Top Rank talent. That is a win/win for Arum. Losing to a fighter outside of Top Rank is all bad for Arum. You hurt the future sales of your fighter, and have no vested interest in the guy that beat him. I have no real reason? He refuses to pay Mayweather for a fight and has refused for quite some time. Bob Arum is ON RECORD saying he did not think Mayweather was worth it. He has ADMITTED that he is the reason Mayweather has not fought Cotto and Margarito. That's a fact.
