140 class is the most physicall gifted in years, but the least intelligent as well !!

    After watching Alexander vs Bradley, and Khan vs Maidana I noticed most of this new crop of 140 pounders are physically gifted with height, natural power, speed, and conditioning.

    But after watching the old 140 pounders I noticed these guys where a lot smarter in the ring. When I watch this crop of 140 pounders I can just pick apart all types or flaws. I'm not claiming to be a supper boxer my damn self, but it seem like these guys have traded learning fundamentals, and concentrated on how to maximize their physical abilities.


    What do you guys think?

    By the way I'm not one of those guys who guys out of their way to see bad footwork, but these guys errors or just to noticeable.

    Yeah, khan has a lot of advantages and he is great on the outside but the last fight showed how limited he can be on the inside.

    These guys have a lot of great athleticism but theyre not well rounded.

    To be fair though Maidana, Ortiz, Khan, Alexander, Bradley are all pretty young. I think that this crop of jr. welters can get there if they continue to face good comp and push themselves.

    I don't get why you think they have bad ring IQ?

    If anything they all have some physical, technique, or natural talent limitations. But as far as not knowing how to take advantage of who they are I would say only Alexander is IQ deficient.

    Khan knows who he is and he tries to fight to his limitations. His foot work holds him back that is technique not IQ

    Bradley knows who he is.

    And Maidana certainly knows who he is.

    I just don't understand why you think they are not ring savy.

    If I had my way I'd put the 82 Aaron Pryor in today's division.

    Bradley, Alexander, and Con are all ass.

    errr, were these guys considered "veterans" of the sport? Yes, they are the top of the weight division, but none of these guys are considered veterans....

    mebbe when they grow in the sport and get more well-rounded over time and from experience, they will gain more ring intelligence?

    Sorry for having to state the obvious....
