Bunch of loonies up in here. De La Hoya has been retired for a couple of years now. Last time he looked like any type of monster capable of doing what posters in this thread are claiming he would to Chavez was 5 years ago against Mayorga. Since that fight he wanted nothing to do with fighting guys his own size like Margarito or a rematch against a shot-to-**** Trinidad, and got his face mangled by smaller fighters Pac and by Stevie Forbes, to a lesser extent. Chavez Jr is no great fighter, but he's definately good enough to stop a shot Oscar, and he'd be guided by Roach who knows all about Oscar and how to exploit his many weaknesses.

Nope, I distinctly remember him wearing gold shorts against the macho man.

That happy snap was probably taken after the Kamua fight. He also wore those blue shorts against Tito, though he wouldn't have been smiling as brightly after that one.

A true Oscarsexual would have known that. You must be trolling.

*there you go..gotta admit DLH was beastly back then against overmatched guys. Though a bit amateurish with his flurries. Some left hand though, all he needed was to land two=2 KDs and fight's over. Can't believe Sr had him neglectling his left hook when he took over him afterwards

Take the suit off and put them gloves back on for a minute and knock the snot out off this hype job living off daddys name.

slap around one of Arums guys and retire again on a high note like you always wanted and deserved to.

Would love for this to happen.:bbb

I think Sr and Oscar made a great match, especially at that stage in Oscars career.

Oscar has a much harder time or maybe doesn't beat the steroid beast(Vargas) without Sr in his corner.

Oscar used his left hook just as much with Sr than without.Sr just worked with Oscar on his right hand so Oscar started becoming somewhat of a two handed fighter.

You recognise that yet fail to see why we think he still trashes Chavez Jnr?

When he came back to destroy Mayorga, he had been retired fpr 2 years also. Previously he had lost to a close decision to Shane, got a gift against Sturm and got KO by Hopkins. Retires for 2 years and KTFO Mayorga.

Now if he came back, he would have lost a close decision to PBF, beat Forbes and got KO by Pac. Retired for 2 years and if came back to fight Chavez, he would KHTFO too.

Do you see what Hopkins, Pac, PBF, Mosley all have in common? All great fighters. Do you see what Mayorga and Chavez have in common? Both offer their chin to Hoya's left hook and makes him look like a prime Sweet Pea in the ring. Of course Hoya is more past it, but Chavez is nothing.

Oscar was 32/33 when he fought Mayorga, still fairly young and he hadn't taken a lot of damage. He's now 38 man and his last two, much smaller opponents, made his face look like this:

Chavez is not great fighter, but neither was Stevie Forbes. You think Oscar wouldn't have had an easy farewell fight already if he thought he could still do it? Logic says Chavez Jr would beat him now, and likely give him a beating.

Doesn't he know Oscar is old and hasn't fought in years. What a waste of JCC Jr's time. Challenge guys who are your age and who are in your class. In a way challenging Oscar sounds wrong. Oscar did too much in his career to be called out by some guy who has done nothing.

Calling out a 38 year old fighter thats been retired for 3 years is not something you want to hear from a 42-0 24 year old. Its like if Tim Bradley called out Kostya Tszyu. :-( Except of couse Bradley is actually good, whereas Jr. is garbage.
