    Heavyweight: Gerry Cooney
    Cruiserweight: James "Lights Out" Toney
    Lt. Heavyweight: John Conteh
Super Middleweight: Lindell Holmes (the others wanted no piece)
    Middleweight: Georgie Benton
    Jr. Middleweight: Ayub Kalule
Welterweight: Jose Luis Lopez (although he may've underachieved a tad)
Jr. Welterweight: Tippy Larkin (apart from his glass chin)
    Lightweight: Jim Watt
    Super Featherweight: Tyrone Everett
Featherweight: Howard Winstone (Pep had nothin' on him)
    Super Bantamweight: Welcome Ncita
    Bantamweight: Chucho Castillo

And the immortal 4-weight champion Leo Gamez sweeps the list from Jr. Bantamweight on down. I have spoken!

since the question asks "best" not the "greatest" then that is why i would pick floyd over arguello at super feather even though alexis had better resume in that weight class.

It's intended to be open to interpretation. So you can have a H2H list, or an ATG list.... or both.
