Yes, because world titles from 126-135 and best wins over Juan Diaz, a shot Joel Casamayor and an old Marco Barrera are much better than world titles from 112-150 and best wins over prime Marco Barrera, prime Juan Manuel Marquez, Erik Morales and the welterweight Miguel Cotto.
Manny doesnt fight prime fighters. Nor does he fight guys at their natural weight. And he sure as hell dont want no part of OSDT :smooch
He destroyed a prime Barrera at a great weight for Barrera, the same weight where Barrera beat Hamed and Morales. Marquez struggled horribly with a past-prime Barrera at a further weight class up. Then Pacquiao dominated Barrera again, in Barrera's very next fight. It's not rocket science. atsch
jmm didnt struggle with mab. He got caught with a right hand just like manny got hurt by margarito with a left hook to the body. Stop trying to discredit jmm he is the only credible fighter manny has fought that isnt damaged goods. And the draw and the win are both highly disputed.
Duran Leonard Hearns Hagler Very little between these guys at all, same goes for these guys..... Pacquiao Morales Barrera Marquez
JMM did struggle with MAB. Watch the fight. It was razor-thin, one of the closest fights I've ever seen. The scorecards were absolutely insane. I repeat: watch the fight.
I repeat jmm didnt struggle with mab. Of course Ive seen the fight fight it was very competitive and like you said it was close, but you should rewatch the fight and tell me who was the one winning and finishing the exchanges. Thats what made the difference in that fight. Both were counterpunching in that fight. Jmm clearly beat mab in a competitive fight all there is to it.
Nah. You should re-watch the fight then. I have no preference for Barrera or Marquez, but a prime Marquez struggled woefully with a well past-prime Barrera. That fight was selected to make Marquez look good, and he did anything but. Even a clearly declined MAB still outjabbed and outboxed him in many rounds, and scored a perfect KD into the bargain. JMM did not "clearly" win at all, he barely won, if at all. Most of the HBO commentary team seemed to think MAB had won, and if the official cards had concurred then there would have been no real complaints.
so at least you agree he won thats what I was trying to get at. You think he struggled I thought jmm won most exchanges fair enough it was close I think jmm did enough to win as he usually does but lack of agression hurts him. To me prime jmm is 1999-2006. At 33 no fighter is in there prime. Watch his fights and his speed and timing are at its best. We're in 2011 now way far from his best and the best LW in the world.
