    Its too bad we never got to see Roberto Duran versus the best Light Welterweights
    in the 70's.

    Antonio Cervantes
    Saensak Muangsurin {WBC JW Champion, agreed to meet Duran on a neutral site only, in Italy}
    Sang-Hyun Kim {WBC JW Champion 1978-1979, agreed, but only in South Korea}
    Perico Fernandez
    Wilfred Benetiz (early 1977)
    Bruno Arcari

    The Duran who beat De Jesus in their rubber match and Leonard in Montreal came very close to being a perfect fighting machine. He had just about no flaws. Can't see Pryor winnning this.

    True, though we did see him against Emiliano Villa in a non-tite fight who was better than all of those other than Benitez and Cervantes imo.

    Yes Mr. Lora,

    Emiliano Villa was actually pretty good. Had a very good amateur back-ground.
    He was without a doubt, the best 135+ lb. fighter that Roberto Duran fought
    from 1972 thru early-1978.
    Emiliano lost a razor-close decision to Nicolino Loche, earlier in his career.

    But, I would never discount Saensak Muangsurin, as he was a brutal body puncher,
    and with those long arms and southpaw style. He was no walk in the park.
    A deadly Muay-Thai fighter too.

    Great match up

    I just feel Pryor's all action style would play into Durans hands. Aaron wouldn't be able to help himself from getting into a war in this one. Both have great chins so I don't see a stoppage, I just think Duran would be the stronger of the two. If you see the way he bullied SRL in the first fight, you would have to think he would be able to do a similar job against Pryor.

    Probaly a good job this fight didn't happen for Duran as it's one of those fights that shortens a career.

    Aaron Pryor was much stronger than most think.
    I would liken his style, somewhat similar to Esteban DeJesus,
    but obviously a much harder puncher.

    I wouldn't doubt that Aaron might hit the canvas once or twice, but
    this would be war.

    As for common opponents on the Roberto Duran - Saensak Muansurin battle.
